SWTOR Life Day Event Guide. What is Life Day and How Do I Get the Rewards?

Post Sections

Let the Fleet Ships be decorated, festive music play and Dromund Kaas and Coruscant descend into snow-filled anarchy: Life Day is here! The Galaxy may be gearing up for war, or Revan may threaten all life, or you may still be possessed by Valkorion. But wherever you are in the many stories of Star Wars: The Old Republic, it’s time to catch a break! Here I’ll give you the run-down of the SWTOR Life Day Event, look at how you can join in and show some of the rewards you can earn. So sit back, enjoy and forget about your next gearing target: let’s get seasonal – and go hug some Wookies!

What Is Life Day?

Life Day in SWTOR is the name of the event which happens every year from about mid-December through to early-ish January. It features Christmas-themed rewards and the throwing of many, many snowballs! So even if it’s Summer where you celebrate the holidays, you can still join in Winter fun! Usually SWTOR also release Life Day items on the Cartel Market for a limited time only.

Note: like “Christmas” holidays, “Life Day” is not a one-day only event.

It’s Also SWTOR’s Anniversary

is SWTOR’s 9th Anniversary! For more info on these two events that happen at the same time, see December’s Events page.

Thanks to @swtorista, for the reminder that you can get Freebies from Fleet during the Anniversary too!

When Is This Year’s Life Day Event?

Life Day Event Dates are: December 15th to January 5th .
It starts and ends at the following times on the dates above: AM PST, PM GMT (Use Timezone Converter to get your time!).

↑ Menu

How to Get Started

As soon as the event goes live, head to your faction’s fleet. Follow the sounds of music and festive cheer until you find several NPCs dressed in dark-red robes.

There you will need to purchase a reusable Life Day Snowball Bombfor Credits. You only need to purchase one per character. Keep it in your inventory and I suggest you quick-slot it as you’ll be using it a lot!

What are Snow-Covered Parcels?

Snow-Covered Parcel Reward Example
Snow-Covered Parcels are a type of ‘token’ you use to exchange for event rewards. They are not character-bound, so if you collect a few from a number of characters you can pool them.

Every time you throw a snowball at a valid target, you have a chance at being rewarded a Snow-Covered Parcel.

Snow-Covered Parcel Item

The more parcels you earn, the more rewards you can buy from the event vendor, simple!

Who Can I Snowball?

Although you’ll see players snowballing other players on fleet, or on Dromund Kaas, players are not the only valid target. That said, it is encouraged as Life Day is a community event, after all! However, other valid targets include:

  • Companions: yours or other players’.
  • Special Protocol Droids dotted around the Galaxy
  • Enemies, of any race/species. Oh and defeated enemies count if you hit them before they de-spawn!
  • NPCs: Vendors, repair droids, questgivers and any others you can successfully select or target.

You cannot, however, snowball pets – because they cannot be selected. Here’s some of my fun from previous years!

What are the Life Day Protocol Droids?

An overheating life day protocol droid example
These droids supposedly have a higher chance of a Snow-Covered Parcelthan other NPCs. Even better, if you can find an overheating droidbefore another player does, you can cool them down. These can be found on Capital worlds, Nar Shaddaa and I found some on Mek-Sha. Where else SWTOR have put them this year, Maker only knows!
An Overheated Gift Droid on Mek-Sha
I believe the chances of a parcel are higher again on overheating droids and, according to Dulfy, the chance for a stronghold decoration.

Life Day Legacy Titles (Achievements)

  • Life Day Celebrant: Find 25 × Snow-Covered Parcels
  • A Special Snowflake Find × Snow-Covered Parcels
  • Wookiee-Hugging Champion:Hug × Wookiees during the Life Day Event (hahaha)
A Special Snowflake - SWTOR Life Day Legacy Title Achievement

You do not need to keep your parcels until you have however. It is a legacy achievement that will increase all on its own. So feel free to buy any rewardsyou want!

How Do You Hug a Wookiee?

Well there’s a question I never thought would crop up in SWTOR content! But if you want that Wookiee Hugging Champion title then best get to it!

1. Hug the Right Wookiee

The first thing is, you need to find specifies Wookiees: Wookiee Revelers and Carolers.

2. Approach With Caution!

Don’t worry they won’t tear your arms off! But as you approach a valid Wookiee (from the front), you get a temporary ability bar with the hug action in it. The normal /hug emote doesn’t work.

How Do You Hug a Wookiee during SWTOR's Life Day Event?
It is a bit fiddly – you can get the ‘too far away’ and ‘too close’ errors. Wait for the ability to light up then click it. If you find it doesn’t do that, then I’ve found backing away until the bar disappears and trying again works.

3. Get Wookiee-Hugged!

Aww!

Hugging a Wookiee Caroler!

4. Complete: Could Use a Good Hug Mission

Hugging your first Wookiee triggers a 10 × Hug mission called Could USe a Good Hug! As this is day one, I don’t know if it’s a daily. But completing it gives you 2 × Snow-Covered Parcels.

Life Day Rewards

Here is a sample of the rewards available! There are quite a lot, especially if you decorate strongolds. The event vendors can be found in the Galactic Trade Network quadrant of your faction’s fleet. If you just want to see a list of goodies you can get then click/tap here.

Speeder Mounts

There are two mounts you can earn for Snow-Covered Parcels:

Sleigh I – 20 Parcels

Packed with presents, the Sleigh I mount is requires relatively few parcels, but is still a lot of fun!

SWTOR Sleigh I Speeder Mount

JY – Parcels

Jingle all the way across the Galaxy in the JY Speeder!

SWTOR JY Mount, only available during Life Day

Czerka LD-1 Celebrator – Parcels

Finally I got enough parcels to bag the last speeder mount. The Czerka LD-1 Celebrator comes with festive lights and a funnel spouting snow. Or noxious gases, I’m not sure. Let’s say it’s snow!

Armour / Cosmetic Outfits, 30 Parcels/Piece

You can acquire the Life Day Vestments, Lower Robe and Boots for Snow-Covered Parcels too!

Just a note: if you want to dye these items the same colour, you’ll need to use different dye combinations.
  • Secondary Dye: Life Day Vestments (Chest)
  • Primary Dye: Lower Robe

Don’t ask me why, it’s always been like that! So unless you’re using the same primary/secondary combination, don’t use Unify Colours!

Stronghold Decorations

There are various stronghold decorations available, but I only have shots of these ones at the moment. And one of these is just pulled from the monthly event round-up by SWTOR!

Various Holo-Trees – 40 Parcels

There are three different Holo-Trees available (red, green and blue) but I think I only have two of them.

Life Day Holo Tree (Green) Decoration
Note:these Holo-trees require a “Centerpiece” hook (read: humungous!). If you don’t have one of these, get another stronghold that does…or save your Parcels!

Cartel Market Items

The Life Day Snowball Cannon in Action!
During the event and Anniversary there are a number of items released on the Cartel Market only for that period.
  • Snowball Cannon: Price: Cartel Coins – launch snowballs with a shoulder cannon. Couple this with your Snowball Bomb to increase the number of times you can launch snow at high speed!
  • Snowtacular Flair: Price: Cartel Coins – A beautiful, snowy character flair! Remember Snowtacular is for life, not just for Life Day!
  • Bundles: the and the “Wampa” bundles are available for purchase. As far as I can tell, if you want the Merry Ice Tromper mount, the Wampa companion or the Festive Tauntaun mount you have to buy a bundle. I cannot see them sold separately on the Cartel Market.
  • Snowglobe Decorations: Cartel Coins each

Here’s the Cartel Market showing some (most?) of these items and their prices (tap on the image to open it full screen).

TL;DR – Enjoy the SWTOR Life Day Event Everwhere in the Galaxy!

The great thing about the SWTOR Life Day Event is that you can take part wherever you are in the galaxy. Snowball other players, enemies, NPCs and even your grumpy companions. Rack up XP and Snow-Covered Parcels then trade them in when you’re next at fleet. Above all, remember to have fun with it. You can find a fuller list of rewards over on Dulfy, by the way! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Yule or just enjoy a holiday time, I wish you the best and I’ll see you next year in SWTOR!

OCTOBER IN-GAME EVENTS

LEVEL: Level 20+

Over the years, the Hutt Cartel’s reputation has taken a hit. The once powerful organization no longer instills respect and fear. To restore the Cartel’s influence, two up-and-coming Hutts, Gaboorga the Abundant and Duuba the Magnanimous, are throwing the most lavish “charitable banquet” in history for the galaxy’s underprivileged. And if the Cartel happens to advance their business interests during the Feast, everyone wins!

If Gaboorga and Duuba can cooperate, they could rocket the Cartel back into the upper echelons of the galactic underworld. But the Hutts’ conflicting priorities means they’re constantly undermining each other. Each week a new Story Mission will unlock to progress this storyline, leading to the climatic choice during the third and final week: Gaboorga or Duuba? Only one Hutt can win, and the fate of the Feast of Prosperity is at stake. Choose wisely!

For players that participated in the event when it previously ran, you'll be able to immediately jump into the Daily Missions and mini-games! If this will be your first time experiencing the event, each week a Story Mission will unlock - progressing the conflict between Gaboorga and Duuba.

SWTOR NEWS - Life Day and SWTOR's 8th Anniversary Coming Soon!

Life Day Event Guide (SWTOR)

The Life Day Event is a limited-time event in Star Wars: The Old Republic that only takes place once a year in the winter. The event focuses on the fiction Star Wars holiday of Life Day, allowing you to throw snowballs, hug wookiees, and earn holiday-themed rewards. You can participate in the event as early as level 10, you just need to complete your first planet. Unlike the other limited-time events, the Life Day event has no quests and is not very involved &#; players often participate in the snowball throwing part of the event while doing Flashpoints, Operations, PvP or just while hanging out on the Fleet.

Life Day Event is December 15, &#; January 5,

Contents

How to Start the Life Day Event

To start the Life Day Event, head to the Galactic Trade Market section of the Republic or Imperial Fleet (near the GTN) and speak to the Master of Ceremonies vendor.

There&#;s no quests or cutscenes, instead you can jump right in to the event by buying the item called Life Day Snowball Bomb which only costs 1, credits.

Throwing Snowballs

The Snowball Bomb allows you to select another player, then use the item, which will cause your character to throw a snowball at them.

The goal of the event is to gain Snow-Covered Parcels, which are the currency you can use to buy the holiday themed rewards available from the Master of Ceremonies vendor. Every time you throw a snowball at another player, who you haven&#;t thrown a snowball at recently, you have a chance to get a Snow-Covered Parcel.

Snow-Covered Parcels are a legacy-bound currency, and you can view how many you have in the Currency tab of your inventory.

Bug: If you have old Snow-Covered Parcels from before in your inventory and are unable to use them, mail them to one of your other characters. Once the second character takes them out of their mailbox, the parcels will be converted in to legacy currency which can be spent at the vendor.

Snowball Throwing Tips

  • You can throw snowballs at almost any type of character you can select. Another player, their companion, your companion, vendors, any enemies, turrets, non-player characters walking around, class trainers, crew skills trainers, as long as you can click them and they have a nameplate you can throw a snowball at them.
  • You have a 15% chance to getting a Snow-Covered Parcel when you throw a snowball at a character that does not already have your snowball buff showing near their character portrait.
  • If a character already has your snowball buff, you can still throw a snowball at them, but you have a 0% chance of getting anything from them. It will wear off after five minutes.
  • If another player throws a snowball at a character that already has your buff, the buff will become their buff, and you can throw another snowball at them without having to wait.
  • By default, you can&#;t see if the snowball buff is from you or another player. But you can turn on a settings that highlights buffs that were applied by you &#; press ESC > Interface Editor > Click on the Target Frame, where your enemy&#;s face appears > Check the Highlight Buffs checkbox after scrolling down in the middle, and Save. Then the next time you throw a snowball, your snowball buff should glow, and you&#;ll know not to throw another snowball at a character who has your glowing snowball buff already.
  • Your Life Day Snowball Bomb has a 15 second cooldown before you can throw another snowball.
  • You can also purchase the Life Day Snowball Cannon item from the Cartel Market for Cartel Coins or from the GTN. This item is very similar to the Snowball Bomb item but it only has a 7 second cooldown. You can use both the Snowball Cannon and Snowball Bomb together to speed up your snowballing.
  • You can drag the snowball bomb item in your inventory on to your quickbar so you don&#;t have to constantly open your inventory to throw a snowball. You can even keybind your snowball throwing ability once it&#;s on your bar.
  • Alacrity speeds up your snowball throwing &#; the higher your alacrity stat, the lower the cooldown will be on your snowball ability down from the original 15 second cooldown.
  • You can throw a snowball at your companion by backing up as you throw it, and they will receive the buff. You can then right-click the buff near their character portrait to remove it, allowing you to throw another snowball at them.
  • Players often snowball everything that moves while doing other content like Flashpoints or Operations.
  • If you&#;re more of a solo player you can put a bunch of Companion decorations down in your stronghold and throw snowballs at all of them.

Life Day Droids

On Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, Nar Shaddaa and Mek-Sha, you&#;ll also be able to find Life Day Gift Droids. These droids have a chance of turning in to Overheated Life Day Droids. Throw snowballs at the Overheated Life Day Droids for a chance of getting some holo tree decorations in addition to Snow-Covered Parcels!

Life Day Droid Tips

  • If you are looking to earn Snow-Covered Parcels, there&#;s a myth that the Overheated droids have a higher chance of dropping parcels. This isn&#;t true, but Overheated Droids are often still the most efficient way to farm parcels which I&#;ll explain in a bit.
  • You can see which droids are Overheated by their nameplate. They have a small visual difference on their shoulders but it&#;s hard to see especially when everyone is throwing snowballs.
  • There are many Life Day Droids on Nar Shaddaa and that&#;s where players usually head to &#;farm&#; the droids. Look for a large group of players pelting some poor red droid with snowballs.
  • The fastest way to Nar Shaddaa is to travel to your Nar Shaddaa stronghold then exit, otherwise use the Nar Shaddaa Heroic quick travel in the activity finder.
  • If a droid tries to attack you, do not attack it back, instead throw a snowball at it to cool it down.
  • If you can not find any Overheated droids, you can try a different instance, or a different map, or wait about 5 minutes and the droids will refresh and an Overheated droid may respawn somewhere on the map.
  • If you throw a snowball at an Overheated Droid, then try to throw another, you won&#;t get a chance to get a Parcel or Decoration from it until the Snowball buff wears off of it. However, if there are one or more other players also throwing snowballs at the same droid, every time they throw a snowball, it will refresh the snowball buff and allow you to throw your own again for a chance at a prize. So you&#;ll want to find an Overheated Droid that at least one other player is throwing snowballs at or bring a friend! You can even play with your Interface Editor to easily see the buffs and debuffs by you or by other players.
  • The color of the Droid&#;s nameplate does not matter if you are in a group of players throwing snowballs, as long as it is called an Overheated Droid.
  • You have a 20% chance of getting a decoration (and a separate 15% chance of getting a parcel) each time you throw a snowball at the Overheated Droid. If you win a decoration prize, you&#;ll be able to choose from these items: Life Day Holo-Tree (Blue), Life Day Holo-Tree (Green-Gold), Life Day Holo-Tree (Pink), and Life Day Holo-Tree (Red). These trees are unique to the Overheated Droid, and are bound, and can not be bought, sold or traded. There&#;s two other types of holotrees called the Life Day Holo-Tree (Blue-Purple) and Life Day Holo-Tree (Green) from the Snow-Covered parcel vendor for 40 parcels each.

Hugging Wookiees

In addition to throwing Snowballs during the event, you can also hug Wookiees. Hugging ten Wookiees gets you a reward of 2 parcels, and you can do this onece per day per character, and hugging 1, and 1, Wookiees gets you an achievement. To hug a Wookiee stand directly in front of it, facing it, and shuffle forward and backwards until you are within perfect hugging range.

Hugging Wookiee Tips

  • The Wookiee hugging mechanic is very finicky.
  • You need to be directly facing the Wookie, not behind it or beside it. Then a small yellow ability should appear in the middle of the screen.
  • Sometimes the little ability to hug the Wookiee does not show up even if you are directly in front of the Wookiee.  If this happens, walk far away from the Wookiee then come back to it.
  • Once you&#;ve hugged a Wookiee recently, the ability will not show up even if you are in front of the Wookiee.
  • If the yellow ability is greyed-out, you are likely too close or too far from the Wookiee to hug it or someone is hugging it. You need to be exactly &#; m away to hug a Wookiee.
  • You can see your distance from a Wookiee near their name and character portrait once you&#;ve selected them. Scooch backward and forward until you , , , , , , , or m away.
  • When you are near a Wookiee, press the slash / key above your numpoad on the right hand side of your keyboard to &#;roleplay walk&#;. It makes it easier to get within the exact range.
  • There are Wookiees on the Republic & Imperial Fleet, Nar Shaddaa and Mek-Sha (high-level planet, even accessible by Free-to-Play players!).
  • The Wookiees on Mek-Sha are the most optimal for drive-by hugging, as on the other planets they are more spread out. They&#;re in the Slugfall Cantina / Slugfall Harbor walkaround area outside the cantina.
  • On Nar Shaddaa, the Wookiees are near the golden Hutt statue but are quite spread out.
  • You can hug each Wookiee once per hour. However once you&#;ve hugged all the Wookiees in an area, you can press M for map, and switch to a different instance using the dropdown where you will be able to hug all the Wookiees again without waiting an hour. Once you&#;ve hugged all the Wookiees in all the instances you&#;ll need to wait though. There is a short timer you need to wait for between switching instances after you do it the first time.
  • You can also hug Wookiees on multiple characters all over again. Hopping between characters is probably the fastest way to get your Wookiee hugging on, ideally on Mek-Sha.
  • I saw this tip on the forums by player DarkTergon: &#;I found that if you click the Wookiee first, and move the camera so it&#;s facing, down, ie see the top of the head, there&#;s a green circle around the Wookiee, if you stand on the point/tip of the circle you can hug them no problem, no shifting, etc.&#;

Wookiees on Mek-Sha

You are too far away to hug your Wookiee:

Your Wookiee needs you to back up:

You gave this Wookiee a hug too recently and need to wait an hour to hug that one in that instance:

Someone is already hugging this Wookiee, wait a moment:

Success! You are in the perfect position to hug a Wookiee:

Wait a few minutes and you will be able to switch instances again:

Achievements

There&#;s some fun achievements related to the Life Day event that are meant to be completed over time. The notable ones are:

  • Find 1 Parcel, get the Legacy Title: Life Day Celebrant
  • Find Parcels, get the Legacy Title: A Special Snowflake
  • Find Parcels, get the Legacy Title: Cheer Delivery Expert
  • Hug 1, Wookiees, get the Legacy Title: Wookie Hugging Champion
  • Hug 1, Wookiees, get the Legacy Title: Hug Everlasting (previous years Wookiees do not count towards total)
  • Receive a decoration from an Overheated Life Day Droid

Achievements are a way of tracking your progress in Star Wars: The Old Republic, from what Flashpoints you have completed to what secrets you have uncovered. There are some very fun achievements, but many of them simply consist of repeating content or defeating a certain amount of enemies.

If you are looking for a list of everything interesting to complete in SWTOR, check out the List of Everything instead, a curated list of everything you should try once in SWTOR.

This list of over 10 achievements was hand-sorted by volunteer players so it appears in a similar order as in-game. Thank you so much to players Arutsuroo, Aylass, Alf, and Kelgryphon for dedicating so much time to helping other players with this list!

Life day 2019 swtor

A short guide to the Life Day event introduced with Patch on Dec 17 There is also a guide to the Gree event available here.

Getting started

Head to the Galactic Trade Market section of the fleet and look for a Master of Ceremonies NPC near the GTN. He sells a number of items but the one you want to grab for now is Life Day Snowball Bomb. This is an ability you can put on your hotbar that allow you to throw snowballs at other players and NPCs with a ~s cooldown.

Snow-Covered Parcels

Snow-Covered Parcels are the main currency used in this event. You get them randomly by throwing snowballs at other players with a 15% chance to receive parcels. Despite what the description for the snowball bomb says, you can get parcels from other players even if they have the debuff from getting hit by a snowball (you can also click off the debuff manually). However,if this debuff was applied by you then you won’t get any parcels out of it. Throwing snowballs at companions and NPCs also works in recovering parcels.

  • Tip: You can just throw it at your own companion and click off their debuff everytime.

The first time you get a snow-covered parcel you will get a popup window and an achievement. From here on you will see a yellow text on your screen everytime you recover a parcel.

Snow-Covered Parcels are tradeable but the ones brought do not count towards the achievement.

SWTOR: Life Day Event 2019 and 8th Year Anniversary Event - How to Hug a Wookiee

The mother-in-law returned from the room, and the snow was already melting on her feet, turning into small muddy drops on the new linoleum. She looked down guiltily and said in bewilderment: I ought to, Irina Vasilyevna, - I answered her in tone and began to take off my shoes. Close the door tightly, - my mother-in-law asked me, pulling out slippers from under the cupboard.

Similar news:

In short, I didn't care who and where to finish, and I did it, right into her mouth, and also on her breast and stomach, somewhere else. I could no longer understand almost anything in the sweet languor. I woke up with a strange feeling that someone was driving hot wet hands over my penis. Opening my eyes and squinting down, I was stunned in the literal sense of the word; what I felt like palms turned.
