Siblings Picasso and Ginny

Both Picasso and Ginny are 11-month-old, domestic short-haired cats. They were abandoned outside the shelter and it is believed that they may be brother and sister as they came to the shelter together.  Both cats love to play and be petted and would make a wonderful addition to any family. They can be adopted separately or together since they do get along well with each other. We do have a Buddy discount for adopting more than one animal at a time so if you want to adopt both of them, be sure to ask about that! If you think Picasso or Ginny or perhaps both would be a great addition to your family, please contact the front office at (626) 286-1159.

🐾 In order to  comply with the #SaferAtHome directives, we have temporarily suspended elective surgeries, which includes spay and neuter and TNR. Due to this situation, we will not be accepting cats/kittens that live outside, unless they are SICK or INJURED.

🐾 FIND A LITTER: BE A SITTER!  Mother cats often leave kittens for hours at a time, and will likely return soon. The only time to interfere is when you are sure the kittens are ORPHANED (left alone for over 8 hours), INJURED or ILL, and in that case, please give us a call at (626) 286-1159.

🐾 If you think kittens have been abandoned, you can help support us by raising them in your home!

Canine Distemper

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has determined that several local raccoons have been infected with the Canine Distemper virus.  This disease is highly contagious to dogs and puppies, and is often fatal. The good news is that Distemper is preventable in dogs and puppies with a simple vaccination at your local veterinarians, or at San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (clinic hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM).  More information about Canine Distemper can be found here.

Why Rescue A Shelter Dog?

Because shelter dogs are full of love!

Is it because they know you saved them and love you harder for it?

I can't say for certain, but yes.

Jokes aside, there are three things all shelter dogs need to thrive in their new home:

  1. Love
  2. Patient
  3. Training

Older shelter dogs, generally 1+ years old, may have experienced a lot of trauma, which often results in one of 8 common behavioral issues:

  1. Anxiety
  2. Aggression toward people & pets
  3. Resource guarding
  4. Destructive behavior
  5. Housetraining regression
  6. Poor social skills
  7. Leash reactivity & barrier-related aggression
  8. Constant whining

These issues are correctable! Your dog isn't broken, they're just damaged. You can fix them with enough love, patience, and a good training plan.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, finding good dog trainers can be hard. Like everything else, dog training is moving only. but there are great online dog trainers that are proven to work and can help get your new pup on the right path.

About San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (SGVHS) was founded by Fannie Thompson Kessler in 1924 as the Alhambra-San Gabriel Humane Society, whose efforts were dedicated to the protection of animals. The name was changed to the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society in 1959.

For 85 Years, the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has provided a variety of services to the local communities. Currently we serve the cities of San Gabriel, Monterey Park, Temple City and Azusa.

We provide food, shelter and medical care to hundreds of dogs and cats who are stray and homeless, or have been rescued from abusive conditions or relinquished by their owners.

Please consider giving one of our animals a forever home. If you’re looking to adopt a life-long furry companion, we invite you to visit our Shelter!

Support Adoption and Rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why Should You Adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Society san gabriel humane

If she understood everything correctly, she was offered to play on her body, and in case of defeat, sleep. with whom. With a winner. With both. One was a fucking cynic with a criminal record, the second was good enough for her as a father.

But my wife is jealous, so I need complete confidentiality so that there are no suspicions on her part (because of this, I cannot plant a secretary in my. Waiting room - it is too obvious and suspicious). And you would be perfect for this role. I would sit in my committee, come on my first call and do what I tell you.

Similar news:

And I'm just out of the shower, on my clothes there is only one towel wrapped around my body. Well I couldn't help but let them into the house. They passed, and after me the absolutely naked Tengiz comes out of the bath and wipes his hair on the go. A mute scene arose: I thought my mother and Olyas eyes would pop out of their sockets. I didnt find anything better than to say: Meet Tengiz - Dimas business partner.
