"I have seen all those scenes in movies where the mom cries the moment her daughter finds 'the' wedding dress and I never thought that would be mebut someone must have been chopping onions in that bridal shop, because I'll be darned if I didn't tear up!" said Ree.

Alex and Mauricio, 23, have found their band for the reception, which will be held outdoors under an open tent, according to Ree. She also confirmed that the couple have finalized their guest list and intend to have attendees stay at her hotel, the Boarding House, bed and breakfasts in Pawhuska, or at the Frontier Hotel.

Regarding the guest list, Ree said, "It's pretty equally distributed among Alex's lifelong friends, Mauricio's lifelong friends, their friends they have together, our family, Mauricio's family (many of whom live in Mexico)oh, and cowboys. (And they're pretty much family, so it makes sense.)"

The home cook even picked out her own dress for the wedding already &#x; but admitted that she's "too frightened" to try it on just yet.

"But I will, because guess what? I have started exercising and eating less, which I've heard can maybe result in slimming down? I'm not sure if that's just a rumor or not, but I thought I'd give it a shot," she said.

Lastly, Ree said that her family members "are so excited" for Alex and Mauricio's wedding and are prepared for whatever may happen, likely referencing the ongoing COVID pandemic continuing to affect weddings around the world.

"I sense from speaking to friends and family&#x;and just hearing from people through my blog and social media&#x;a collective exhaustion from all the pain, change, chaos, upheaval, and loss," she said. "But I'm also starting to see a collective HOPE &#x;️that things will get better sooner rather than laterand I'm embracing that feeling."

Alex and Mauricio got married on the ranch in May and it was such a beautiful event. Their wedding was filled with delicious food, sentimental speeches, dreamy flower arrangements, and lots of dancing and fun. After the super-fun celebration, the newlyweds traveled to their tropical honeymoon in the Maldives to enjoy some much-needed R&R as a young married couple.

Now, Alex and Mauricio are enjoying life as a married couple in their home in Dallas, Texas. With the big day behind them, their new normal includes doing dishes, making tacos, traveling, debating laundry habits, sipping on ranch waters, and, of course, working.

Speaking of which: What do Alex and Mauricio do for work?

"I feel like because I post a lot of Instagram stories and stuff during the day people are like, 'Do you guys work? What do you guys do?'" Alex said during the latest episode of #AskAlex. "So I wanted to take a second to tell you guys what we're up to these days."

She went on to explain that she now works for Ree and The Pioneer Woman, after initially working for a Dallas-based consulting firm for one year post graduation. In addition to helping her mom with filming of her Food Network show, she works on photo shoots for The Pioneer Woman products and apparel, helps toward marketing efforts, and generally pitches in whenever the need arises.

While Mauricio has been known to pull a prank or two on the set of The Pioneer Woman, he actually has a full-time (and then some) job for a technology consulting company. Ree explains, "Mauricio works pretty hard, because he has clients on the west coast and often has meetings and calls late into the evening due to the time zone difference. He's a hard worker!

Although Mauricio's office is located in Dallas and Alex's boss (Ree!) lives in Oklahoma, they both work remotely.

"I'll probably work remote most of the time, unless I'm in Pawhuska filming or assisting with photo shoots or other things that need my hands-on support," Alex explains. "My mom's work is pretty busy, so every day there are new experiences and tasks. And Mauricio's been working remote ever since last March, so we both are just home all day together. But we haven't gotten sick of each other yet!"

We'll chalk that up as a marriage win!

As for Ree's job review of her first-born child: "It wasn't a foregone conclusion that Alex would work for me after college," she explains. "But once Covid happened and I had to pivot to doing so many things at home, she was spending so much time helping me with my various projectsand doing such a good jobthat it made sense to make it full time. One thing's for sure: Alex's job is never boring! 😂 There's always something going on!"

3I'm Not Crying, You're Crying!

Here’s Ree at the rehearsal dinner. Don’t mind her, she’s just tearing up during her brother-in-law Tim's sweet toast.

4First Looks

Mauricio and Alex skipped “first look” photos, but she and Ladd were able to share a moment together before the ceremony.

5Cute Couple

They still got it, folks! Ree and Ladd are just as in love now as they were when they got hitched all those years ago.

7Here We Go!

Ree + Ladd = Made4EachOther. Everyone was thinking that when they waltzed down the aisle, right?

8All Choked Up

Mauricio's face when he saw Alex for the first time. BRB, grabbing the tissues!

9Exchanging Vows

Alex and Mauricio exchanged traditional vows at the ceremony. "We wrote each other private notes that were our personal vows," Alex said.

What a sweet photo of the groomsmen bowing their heads in prayer. &#;&#;

11Meet the Scotts

They did it! Look how happy these two pookie heads are together.

13"I Do" Crew!

Ree and Ladd’s honeymoon baby has officially tied the knot. Look how proud they are of Alex and Mauricio.

14Ranch Reception

Have you ever seen such a gorgeous display of flowers? “Alex’s vision was pinks and blues,” said George Catechis of The Fleuriste in Oklahoma City. “She didn’t want to go the typical route of all white flowers, but wanted it to be romantic and elegant.”

15Floral Fairytale

It was like a dream! The candle-filled topiaries on the tables reached almost six feet in height.

16Cheers!

Even the bar was decked out in flowers! Alex and Mauricio opted for two signature cocktails: hers was a raspberry Moscow mule, his was a margarita on the rocks.

17Warm Welcome

How great do Ree and Ladd look? Ree wore a Jovani dress, which was inspired by her love of Real Housewives of New York.

18Fun Times

Ree is clearly saying something dorky during her reception speech. You can see all over Mauricio, Alex, and Ladd’s faces! &#;

19Dinner Time

Ree taste-tested all the yummy food herself. It was catered by The Merc, and the menu included a spring field greens salad with tiny vegetables for the starter, followed by a steak and shrimp duet with sides like caramelized onion and bacon mac and cheese, charred veggies, and mashed potatoes.

21So Romantic

As night fell at the ranch, the decor became even more romantic. Right when we though it couldn't get more magical!

22Dad and Daughter Dance

Ladd and Alex danced to their version of “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” by Brooks & Dunn. “It’s a country song that we always listen to, it's about a girl who grew up in the country, and I just feel like it was very fitting for my relationship with my dad," she said.

23"Beyond" Adorable

Alex and Mauricio's first dance song was "Beyond" by Leon Bridges. "Mauricio got us tickets to a Leon Bridges concert in Austin pretty early on in our relationship. We listen to him a lot together, and we think it’s just a sweet, romantic song," Alex said.

24Mom and Son Moment

Mauricio and his mom, Martha, rocked it out to "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. "She’s very lyrics oriented, and she was like, 'I just think this one’s it,'" he said.

25VIP Guests

If you have a party and Rusty and Fred aren't there, did you even have a party at all?

26Bust a Move

Ree and Alex had such a fun time on the dance floor. Alex and Mauricio had surprises like light-up cowboy hats for their guests to enjoy, and it clearly paid off!

That gorgeous Pawhuska sunset illuminated the nine-foot cross at the ceremony site. It's breathtaking.

‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond talks her foster son and her new book

Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond opens up about her daughter's gorgeous ranch wedding

Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond's firstborn daughter is officially a married woman — and no one is more proud than her celebrity chef mother!

In a blog post shared on her website Monday, Ree wrote a lengthy update on her daughter Alex's weekend wedding on the family ranch in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to Mauricio Scott.

"It was such a meaningful, memorable night — beautiful flowers, great food, and so much funbut what we all felt most of all was the love," Ree said in the post. "It was even more special than any of us could have hoped for."

She went on to detail every aspect of the evening. From the location on the family property, which Ree's husband Ladd chose, to why the bride and groom opted out of first look photos.

"When I thought about the wedding day, that’s what imagined: my dad getting to walk me down the aisle — especially considering his accident and everything that’s happened lately—and seeing Mauricio for the first time," Alex said in the blog post. Ladd Drummond was in an accident on the ranch while fighting a fire in March that left him in a neck brace and then kicked in the head by a cow last week ahead of the wedding.

Ladd recovered and was able to walk Alex down the aisle without his neck brace.

For her wedding gown, Alex chose a gorgeous strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and flowing skirt.

"The dress is simple but the details are so feminine and beautiful," she said in her mom's blog post. "Most importantly, it was comfortable enough to wear all night, and it twirls—which was great for the dance floor."

Alex Drummond and Scott met during their freshman year at Texas A&M University. They got engaged last August with their families "spying from a distance," the Pioneer Woman wrote at the time, "but we couldn't see much."

In a February blog post explaining why her daughter chose to get married at the family ranch, Ree expressed her love for her then-future son-in-law.

“I’m so excited for these two. I have loved watching their relationship grow, and it makes me happy that through all of it, the thing they do most consistently is laugh together," she wrote.

Paige Drummond, Alex's year-old younger sister, served as the maid of honor for the weekend's ceremony. In an Instagram post, she wrote that the day was unforgettable.

"I can’t even begin to describe the feeling of standing beside Alex as she promised herself to one of the best guys I know," she wrote. "Alex, you are my biggest role model, my absolute best friend, and my inspiration to do better. I love you, I love Mauricio, and I love the sweet picture of the gospel that your marriage paints. I am soooo beyond excited for you two!! Cheers to the scotts!!!"

Ree and Ladd Drummond's other kids — Bryce, 18, and Todd, 17, as well as their foster son, Jamar, 18 — also joined in the festivities.

The Pioneer Woman wrote that her boys were "dapper as could be in their suits and tuxes. Handsome cowboys!"
