How to Get to BIOS on an MSI Motherboard
When a computer boots up, the MSI motherboard BIOS is controlling the boot process -- it checks power, CPU, RAM and devices attached to the system, which is called the POST (or Power On Self Test) phase. After this, the BIOS hands over the computer to your operating system. If you're having trouble getting your computer to POST (usually referred to as not booting up), you'll need to enter the BIOS to change some settings or diagnose beep codes.
Press the "Delete" key while the system is booting up to enter the BIOS.
There is normally a message similar to "Press Del to enter SETUP," but it can flash by quickly.
On rare occasions, "F2" may be the BIOS key.
Change your BIOS configuration options as needed and press "Esc" when done. Choose "Save & Exit" to save your changes.
- Most MSI motherboards are an AMI or Award BIOS. Check with your motherboard manufacturer if you're looking to upgrade the BIOS.
- If the computer boots too quickly to get into the BIOS easily, set the BIOS delay option (or "POST" delay) to give you a few seconds.
- The "Quiet" or "Silent" boot option usually displays a splash screen instead of any information about the BIOS and computer. Disabling this can be helpful for future troubleshooting.
- Setting an administrator BIOS password can keep the computer more secure, but losing the password may require you to contact the motherboard manufacturer to get in to the BIOS.

MSI's Click BIOS 5 has been simplifying the tweaking and overclocking experience for so many around the world. The modern UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) was designed to focus on ease-of-use. Not only does Click BIOS 5 continue to do this successfully, it does so regardless of whether you’re using a classic, pro, gaming, or overclocking motherboard model from MSI.
This UEFI was designed with a singular objective in mind – to create an intuitive interface that lets users access and tweak both basic and advanced features with ease. This modern interface makes tweaking and overclocking a breeze, ensuring that you're well-equipped to extract the best performance from your hardware without too much hassle.
The following brief overview offers a great summary to grant you an eagle’s eye view of what features you can enjoy on MSI motherboards and what they do!
While some gamers love tinkering with and tweaking their overclocking settings to get excellent performance in the most demanding of games, some prefer something simpler. MSI’s elegant solution, GAME BOOST, does just that – offering a one-button boost to performance without any additional steps, tweaks, or hassles.
Both A-XMP and XMP are just different names for similar features, and achieve the same result. While Intel motherboards that support overclocking will sport the ‘XMP’ button, you’ll find ‘A-XMP’ on AMD motherboards. This button activates the overclocking profile associated with your installed memory module. No fuss, just a single button should do the trick.
Memory Try It!
Tweaking memory timings and clocks manually can be too much for some, and may not seem worth the trouble for many users. We’ve simplified this process substantially with our ‘Memory Try It!’ feature. It’s straightforward. You just pick from pre-selected memory timing configurations to choose one that works best for you – allowing you to try out several settings with a single click each time.
Easily keep an eye on your memory settings with Memory-Z. Memory-Z displays your memory's SPD timing information in one easy overview. Helping you optimize your RAM settings for stability and overclocking.
Advanced Memory Settings
Some users prefer tinkering with settings at a more advanced level, and we completely understand and applaud it! While Memory Try It! gives users easy access to memory timings and configurations, we also include an advanced memory settings mode for advanced users. You’ll find all the options needed to fine-tune your memory overclocking experience to your liking.
Flashing your BIOS doesn’t need to be complicated and MSI's M-Flash makes the process as convenient as can be. All you have to do to update your BIOS is plug in a flash drive with the BIOS update file on it. Now, the updated BIOS is just a click away and you can begin the process by navigating to Utilities in the BIOS interface and clicking on ‘M-Flash.’
Hardware Monitor & Total Fan Control
Tracking your hardware is important, especially if you’re playing around with different configurations, overclocking, and so on. MSI's Click BIOS 5 allows users to keep tabs on their hardware in real-time with Hardware Monitor. It tracks all the stats you’ll need to assist you in your quest to get the most out of your hardware without compromising safely.
Cooling and acoustics are essential to the running of any system. Click BIOS 5 gives you access to Total Fan Control – allowing you to enhance cooling or reduce the noise of your system at will. From setting fan curves to manually fine-tuning system fans operation, customizability is as straightforward as can be.
Deleting data doesn't guarantee that it won’t be recovered. MSI’s Secure Erase+ wipes data from your storage permanently. It allows for secure deletion of sensitive/personal data without leaving behind any traces whatsoever.
Click BIOS 5 allows users to set up RAID 0 configurations using M.2 SSDs with just a few clicks. RAID 0 is a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) configuration that increases I/O performance by spreading the load on storage across as many drives and channels as possible.
Note – Due to technological limitations, this feature is exclusive to MSI Intel motherboards
Search and Favorites
Finding certain settings within a BIOS can be tedious, even if you're reasonably familiar with the interface. Moreover, even if you do find them, accessing them repeatedly could be a hassle if you have to navigate through too many menus and options to reach them. For example, testing the voltage you need to get to a stable, target clock speed on your CPU. The Search and Favorites functions allow you to search for the setting you need. You can also mark settings as favorites for quick access in the future.
MSI Click BIOS 5 offers a convenient way to troubleshoot any connection issues with the Board Explorer feature. This functionality allows you to have a birds-eye view of your motherboard and you can navigate each port and make changes easily. Moreover, if you have a loose connection somewhere, Board Explorer will show that particular device as disconnected – making troubleshooting much easier.
At times, you’re in a hurry and you just want to make a couple of quick changes in your BIOS. On other occasions, you want to play around with various settings and toggles in an effort to get the most out of your valuable hardware. MSI Click BIOS 5 comes with 2 modes – EZ and Advanced to assist the overview and options required by both kinds of users.
When you’re trying to push your hardware to the limit without compromising on system stability, it’s frustrating to tweak the values over and over. MSI motherboards come equipped with OC profiles that you can customize to your liking, and activate with just a single click.
Changed Settings Overview
Often when we’re tinkering around in the BIOS, we lose track of what changes we made when we save and exit. Click BIOS 5 offers a convenient overview of ALL the changes you made in that particular session before saving and quitting – allowing you to recall exactly what you changed.

A small bush of hair above the clitoris looked funny, resembling a hare's tail, but extremely appropriate, in this absolutely smooth field of love pleasures.
