50 Classy Short Bob Haircuts and Hairstyles with Bangs

When it comes to short hairstyles, a chin-length bob with bangs is unquestionably the one that celebrities have loved over the years. If your hair is short and you are looking for some inspiring images, you are in the right place! Besides, if you still have longer locks and think of cutting them short, here we’ve sorted out some of the hottest bob looks in 2021.

#1: Copper Layered Bob with Bangs

A chin length bob is an ideal way to showcase sharp angular features like these striking cheekbones. For ladies with thin hair, this choppy cut is a great way to add texture and fullness without curls. The thin highlights, also known as babylights, add a glimmer of color throughout the style as opposed to the heavy, streaky highlights of the past.

#2: Wispy Bob with Light Layers and Bangs

A bob with lightweight, wispy layers is great for anyone with thicker hair who doesn’t want to feel weighed down. Making the shortest layers at the back of the crown the same length as your bangs up front also helps to create an overall sense of balance.

#3: Inverted Bob with Ombrè

An easy way to add length around the face is with an inverted bob that moves from the back of the neck to the shoulder because it draws the eye down. Soften the severe cut with a mix of subtle blonde ombrè highlights that brighten dark chocolate locks. This stunning look is polished enough for work and fairly sexy for the weekend.

#4: Medium Messy Waves with Side Bangs

As Beyoncé says, “I woke up like this.” Bed head is the ultimate sexy texture for a blunt or textured shoulder length cut. Wispy side bangs blend seamlessly into the messy waves for a carefree look that invokes the mysterious yet approachable nature of the “girl next door.” This hairstyle works best with fine and medium thick hair textures.

#5: Cute Tousled Short Brown Bob

If you’re worried about a jaw length cut feeling like no hair at all, try a bob with bangs that’s got thickness and volume up at the crown. Skip piecey layers and lightweight bangs and go all in with full front bangs and an almost bowl-like shape — think Beatles, but elevated and ready-to-wear.

#6: Blunt and Layered Caramel Brown Bob

A bob cut that’s chopped straight across at the bottom is unique and looks best when worn straight to emphasize the sharp line. Up top, go for a deep middle part right through the bangs to mirror the blunt bottom, and let caramel highlights add a little life to an otherwise linear finish.

#7: Blunt Bob with Side Bangs

A super chic, no-nonsense straight bob works best when hair is just above the shoulder length and cut at an angle towards the face. Rather than opting for front-facing bangs, try out their cooler older sister: a long, layered side bang. Blow dry your bang to sweep away from your frame towards the back of the head for a little contrast.

#8: Chin-Length Choppy Ash Blonde Bob

To make a bob with side bangs feel grungier, ask your stylist for razor-cut choppy layers scattered haphazardly throughout the head. Don’t stop when it comes to the bangs: have them equally unkempt. This messy approach works best with chin-length hairstyles, as too much length can weigh it down.

#9: Sliced Lob with Eyebrow-Skimming Bangs

Longer bangs can really complement hair that’s medium length overall. Have them cut so they fall just below the brows, and ask for longer razored layers throughout the rest of the lob. Use a large-barreled curling iron to curl sections of hair around the head, then shake it out for a loose wave that looks effortless.

#10: Short Textured Bob with Choppy Bangs

Nothing enhances a layered haircut quite like a contrasting color, and this lavender shade really makes a statement against a darker base. Go for a chin length with super choppy layers, and comb a shine serum through strands for a piecey wet-look finish that’s edgy and sleek.

#11: Classy A-Line Bob with Fringy Edges

When bob haircuts with bangs feel particularly perfected and coiffed, they can give off serious Anna Wintour, magazine-editor, boss babe vibes. Talk about a power cut! For this take, ask your hair stylist to keep it A-line, then add in a frame around the face and straight across bangs that hit right at the brows.

#12: Wavy Sun-Kissed Bob with Bangs

When you have curly or wavy hair texture, a layered bob can really enhance your hair’s natural body. If you’ve got stick-straight strands and want to create mermaid hair of your own, wrap large sections loosely around a 1”curling wand, and spritz the finished look with some sea salt spray for an added beachy finish.

#13: Sliced Blonde Bob with Short Bangs

While in your childhood you might have been terrified of a haircut with bangs of a too short length, the French consider cropped bangs to be quite cute and stylish. To keep the cut intentional and avoid the risk of looking childish, make things edgy with sliced layers and a slightly A-line shape.

#14: Shaggy Brown Layers

Cute with a side of sass, this is what happens when a bob meets a shag. Super modern and super playful, this cut would work especially well with naturally wavy hair: blow out the bangs, scrunch in some product, then go forth and be sexy.

#15: Cropped Flipped Out Bob

While many short bobs with bangs feature cured under ends, flipped out tips are a unique and playful alternative. To style a flip that feels fun and not overdramatic, use a flat iron to curve the bottom of the hair slightly outward. Paired with fringe, the style is certainly youthful, so stick to a solid hair color throughout.

#16: Short Messy Brunette Bob with Bangs

Who says very short hair can’t be styled? While you might not want to curl a crazy short bob, using a texturizing paste to add some wave can generate volume and movement for a simple, short cut. Take some product and use your fingers to work it through the hair, twisting and scrunching to achieve a carefree, lived-in look.

#17: Tousled Bob with Jagged Fringe

Ever since Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso sported her micro bangs, they’ve stayed on-trend. This version is choppy and uneven, creating a quirky and playful look that’s congruent with the tousled bob.

#18: Choppy Rounded Blonde Bob

If an angular cut isn’t your thing, ask your stylist to use face-framing layers to create what’s referred to as a rounded bob. The overall shape should be somewhat circular, with the layers slightly choppy to avoid appearing blocky. Go for straight-across front bangs to break things up a bit.

#19: White Bob with Bangs and Pastel Pink Ends

Since bob hairstyles with bangs are so classy, they allow for tons of freedom to play around with statement colors. This take features an almost-white platinum blonde up top, and dip-dyed tips gone pastel pink. When the pink fades out, feel free to keep dying the bottom fun new shades, as the light blonde will take to dyes with ease.

#20: Jaw-Length Choppy Chocolate Brown Bob

Why contour your jawline when your haircut can do it for you? This shape features a super-sharp length that hits right at the jaw, coupled with some softer, shorter layers and bangs up top. The combination results in a look that’s fierce yet flirty; plus, your jawline guideline will help you notice when it’s time for a trim.

#21: Side-Parted Jagged Brown Bob

A deep side part is essential for achieving those dramatic, in-your-face side-swept bangs. If you notice at first that you can’t make the bangs stay in place, train them over time by using a bobby pin to help them maintain their swoop. Pair the bangs with messy long layers and finish with some dry shampoo for a grungy touch.

#22: Medium Two-Tier Duo-Color Shag

Short hair with side bangs can be especially cool when the transition from bangs-to-layers is seamless. A shaggy lob with two-tiered layers, the higher of which blends right into the bangs, creates a style that’s impossibly cool. Complete the choppy cut with a two-tone color and consider yourself rockstar-ready.

#23: Flawless Rounded Brunette Bob

A sleek, rounded bob is a hit for most hair types thanks to its ability to be easily styled. Simply grab a flat iron and go over the strands until pin straight, letting the shape of the layers mould a curve from the nape of the neck towards the chin. Finish by spritzing a dry oil all over for some bonus shine.

#24: Short Sculpted Brown Bob

An updated shape of the classic bob can be sculpted with two-tier layers. The best layers work with your bone structure, not against it, so a consultation with your stylist before the big chop is a must. Ask for lines that compliment your facial features to make sure the final product is wearable for you.

#25: Cute Wavy Messy Bob Crop

A layered bob with bangs gets particularly dreamy when feathered waves and sun-kissed highlights are added into the mix. The combination of texture and light oozes an ethereal vibe, while the chin-length chop prevents that princessy look. Lock in hold with some lightweight hairspray to maintain the hairstyle bouncy all day.

#26: Salt and Pepper Blunt Cut

With its sharp lines and blunt ends, this haircut is perfect for someone who refuses to be messed with. This masterful ombre gradually moves from soft black to smoky grey for a look that is anything but average; an on-trend silver hairstyle that manages to appear incredibly youthful rather than mature.

#27: Tortoiseshell Layered Bob

Tortoiseshell hair, or ecaille, is a mix of brown and blonde shades to create the color and texture that has depth and movement. Made popular by the supermodel Gisele, this style uses messy waves and cute sun-kissed strands that seem so fit for the ultimate beach babe.

#28: Shaggy Layered Haircut

This standard A-line haircut is elevated by messy layers and blonde highlights sprinkled throughout the medium brown color. The look is perfect for a night out at the club with your friends. It’s a great sassy style to turn heads and gain some admirers.

#29: Angled Bob with Shades of Brown

A great way to find the perfect balance between a long and a short hairstyle is with an angled bob. This works especially well for thick hair that can become too heavy. The short back keeps the hair off of your neck while adding length around your face. Add an extra punch with dyed ends.

#30: Super Short Bangs with Pink Highlights

Somewhere in between a pixie and a chin-length cut, this bob hairstyle with bangs definitely works best for women with oval face shape, as it highlights the widest part of the visage. Super short bangs can be hard to pull off, but when they are executed correctly, they add a cute gamine touch to the look. Pink highlights are a fun way to show off a spunky personality.

#31: Coffee-Colored Bob with Caramel Highlights

Treat your hair color like your favorite morning drink! A rich bold coffee colored hue is much more enjoyable with caramel highlights drizzled throughout. Layered locks of such a-line bob provide movement and spunk to the classic color combination.

#32: Two-Tone Bob with Undercut

The style manages to blend two different hair colors and two different cuts for an interesting and creative result. A closely cropped shorter hair in the back mixes with longer blonde layers at the top for a style that is the perfect balance between tomboy and feminine. This edgy look is perfect for a girl who takes a casual approach to fashion.

#33: Glamorous Vintage Inspired Cut

The 1920s will always be a favorite decade among the fashionable crowd, as it was full of glitz and glamour. This polished, carefully-coifed inverted bob with bangs is similar to the signature style of the ever popular flappers. If you are a woman who appreciates vintage charm, try this look and finish with major mascara and a classic red lip.

#34: Medium Bob with Heavy Bangs

Black women who want to protect their strands can try a sleek bob with extensions and silk closures. This allows you to experiment with a variety of different styles without the damage due to aggressive elements or repeated use of hot tools.

#35: Messy Pastel Curls

What’s the best way to take a sweet angled bob and make it even sweeter? Add tousled curls, and layers upon layers of delicious looking pastel colors.

#36: Baby Bangs for Fine Hair

An angular, choppy shape; short, blunt bangs; a cool platinum shade – this bob with bangs isn’t just modern, it’s futuristic. Great for fine or thin hair, try it out now and you’ll be light years ahead of the style game.

#37: Flaming Bob with Long Bangs

Help! This bob is on fire! Look closely at this bright red coif and you’ll notice subtle strawberry blonde highlights, creating a truly fiery look that is particularly amazing when set against blue or green eyes. The long bangs give a flirty and playful feel.

#38: Vintage Vixen Hairstyle

Some short haircuts with bangs will never go out of style, and this is one of them. The shape of this wavy, slightly angled bob calls to mind visions of babes from the past, but its side swept bangs and tousled curls give it a more modern feel. Side note: it’s also the perfect bob for girls who like to *twirl* their hair!

#39: Curly Bob for Redheads

Red hair and green eyes is a winning combination, as the colors truly complement each other. To keep your mid-length curls from being too polished and proper, run your fingers through them to create wild, shattered waves. Elevate your look with accessories like a trendy septum ring — opt for a clip on options, so that it can come and go as you prefer.

#40: Blunt Bob with Full Bangs

A natural color, crisp edges, and a nice angle, this is a modern take on Pulp Fiction’s Mia Wallace. AKA: this angled chin length bob is for the coolest of cool girls. Pair it with a quiet confidence and an air of mystery for best results.

#41: Short Bob with Angled Bangs

Kathleen Rose Perkins has tried probably the most stunning style of all bob haircuts with side bangs! It’s soft and edgy at the same time. Kathleen’s locks have been parted with a deep side parting to let the bangs sweep across the forehead for the overall soft and romantic feel.

Could this be the perfect date night cut?

This is a bob with layered bangs that you can style to either side or still pull up and away from your face if you choose. This layered lob is easy to style.

What’s your best advice?

A bob cut with layered bangs is a great option for many hair textures and can quickly be styled in so many ways.

In this picture, a smooth blow out using a wide round brush was done, and a lightweight mousse was used for a hint of body.

Curly Bob with Light Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Brittany Shields
Hair Stylist @ Mitchell John Salon in Boston, MA

How would you describe this?

This is a modern take on a classic 1920s curly layered bob with bangs.

Some layered haircuts with bangs are cut entirely with a razor to help enhance the natural texture and leave for a soft, more airy finish.

To style, use mousse with a bit of grit then diffuse for about ten minutes until the hair is 90% dry. This allows your curls to do their natural thing once the hair is almost dry.

What’s your best advice?

Bob haircuts with bangs are versatile for every hair type – it is the shape and length of the bob that really determines what you want to accent. Layered bobs with fringe can enhance your natural features, such as your strong jawbone and high cheekbones. With a chin-length bob, the chin draws more attention because that’s where the weight line of the hair falls.

Bobbed hair with fringe is ideal for women who have always wanted to have a short bang. Having bangs as well creates more balance for your face. Avoid a basic bob by adding more texture into the hair while removing weight. It will give you a more versatile cut that could be worn super sleek or played into the texture with a little product assistance.

If you’re considering a chin-length bob with bangs, be aware of your features and exactly what you’re showcasing by creating a bold style.

Layered Hair with Blunt Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Camille Fowler
Licensed Cosmetologist / Stylist @ Philosophie Salon in St. Augustine, FL

How would you describe this?

This layered bob with blunt bangs is a very classic short bob. It’s an edgy, fun look that’s sophisticated, yet a little undone.

The entire cut was done with a razor. Using the razor on coarse hair texture will give it the very “lived in” style. The majority of this cut was done dry. It’s important to see how the natural texture will respond to the length.

A razor was used to create new layers and to shatter the ends, making them light and airy.

What’s your best advice?

Women considering a drastic change should take the time to decide. Although it may be needed and wanted, it is wise not to make a rush, impulsive decision when it comes to your hair. Set up a thorough consultation with your stylist before your appointment. Be open to feedback and together create a bob haircut with fringe that works for you.

Pixie Bob with Bangs and Layering

Q&A with style creator, Lena Tchilikin
Senior stylist @ De Berardinis Salon & Spa in Ontario, CA

How would you describe this?

A short, layered pixie bob haircut is very trendy, sassy and fresh.

If your hair is very fine, this hair cut creates volume movement and texture.

What’s your best advice?

Women with fine hair are great candidates for this hairstyle. Shorter hair always looks thicker and fuller. Also, it’s a very versatile haircut and can be customized to any face shape or styling options by increasing or decreasing length and graduation.

With some products like a heat protector cream, you could have it blown out smoothly for a soft vibe. If you’re feeling a bit edgier and looking for a textured bob with bangs, use texture spray or powder.

Bob with Angled Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Whitney Bolser
Licensed Master Hairstylist @ Lunatic Fringe Salon in Liberty Township, OH

How would you describe this?

This is a chic layered bob haircut with angled bangs and a subtle highlighted dimension. With this haircut, texture was created with a razor. The bob is a classic hairstyle, but this texture gives this haircut a fun twist.

What’s your best advice?

This bob haircut with asymmetrical bangs would require 6-8 weeks of maintenance. Bringing the length up and creating the layers with a razor would keep the hair density, which would benefit you if you would like the appearance of fuller hair.

If the hair density is high, a lot of weight would need to be removed. Because the length is short, it could make the face shape appear wider than it is.

Styling layered bob hairstyles with bangs is best with a large round brush and blow-dry into beach waves.

Use a blow-dry primer and a volumizing mousse with a large round brush to achieve this bob cut with bangs.

Inverted Bob with Straight Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Megan Kushner
Hair Artist @ The Color Room in Northfield, NJ

How would you describe this?

This is a layered inverted bob with bangs.

This layered haircut on straight across bangs is so versatile!

Bob hairstyles with layers and bangs can go from super conservative to super modern – it all depends on personal style. Everyone loves a good bob!

What’s your best advice?

For bangs on a layered bob, you’ll need to consider your face shape, hair texture, and lifestyle. If you have medium to fine, straight hair like her, this works really well on her!

Inverted bobs are probably not the haircut for women who have very thick or curly hair, and doesn’t want to blow it out very often. Use a thickening balm by Unite to blow the hair out, keeping it full on top but straighter on the ends for modern and sleek bobbed hair with bangs!

Naturally Curly Bob with Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Diana Munoz
Hairstylist @ Dolce Vita Salon in Orlando, FL

How would you describe this look?

We’ve been growing it out from a pixie. She’s used to doing tons of fun color but she is very classy. Now with longer hair, I wanted to make sure the haircut was strong, a statement haircut, for her personality. Classy for work but still have the edge.

She has a graduated bob hairstyle with bangs and inverted layers at the crown. I wanted strength at the perimeter but also to break up the layers to give volume and balance.

I colored her with Tigi Copyright Colour – three parts 55/22 and one part 4, with 20v activator which I picked for my target shade and grey coverage. I then combed the roots down strategically then used 30 grams of /00 of our gloss series with 5grams of 55/22 and 5/6 with 8.5 vol activator for the dusty rose on rest of hair.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look is great for thick curly hair because it’s strong and balanced. It has a build up of weight at the perimeter, but it also has layers for weight distribution which helps the look be balanced visually.

The fringe helped open her face up, so her face isn’t lost in her hair. I used Oribe thickening mousse on her roots for volume and Bumble and Bumble’s Don’t Blow It for control and a soft air dried natural end result.

Beautifully Stacked Bob with Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Crystal Hilbert
Hairstylist & Makeup Artist @ Blevins & Co. Hair Salon in Monroe, NC

How would you describe this look?

This look is a short and sassy, chin length, stacked bob with bangs. We did her overall color red (made it more vibrant than her natural for fun), added highlights for contrast, and darkened her base for depth.

I love how the contrast of the color shows off the texture and layers of this cut. It makes it look lived in, fun, and sexy but still professional.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This hairstyle is very versatile. It works great with straight or naturally curly hair. It gives you volume, appears thicker, and requires a lot less styling. If you have a busy lifestyle and are wanting to make the big chop, go with this sassy hairstyle.

French Bob with Bangs

french bob with bangs hairstyle

Instagram @rushhairwatford

This is a modern french bob with bangs. It has a pretty solid perimeter that is gently broken up with point cutting.

The two best things about this cut are how low maintenance it is and that her bangs are customized to suit her style.

This style looks best blow-dried smooth with a slight bend on the ends. It’s ideal for straight hair or hair with a slight wave in it. It works with almost every face shape however, the rounder the face shape the more length should be left towards the face.

Bangs are customized per the individual. This short style is not for people who typically like to put their hair up.

Textured Bob with Fringe

Textured bob with fringe

Instagram @brianaguilarhair

Try a textured bob with a fringe. This look has a strong perimeter that was cut for weight and paired with surface layers to give lots of fun movement within the haircut.

This look is so much fun and super low-maintenance. Transitioning to a haircut with fringe is an easy way to change your whole look. Styling this haircut is super easy for any woman looking to wash and go.

Using only a few key products, this haircut can look perfectly tousled with little effort. The go-to product for this haircut would be This Is A Dry Texturizing Spray from Davines. It creates the messy look with a light hold, and you will love the scent!

Perfect Bob with Bangs for Fine Hair

perfect bob with bangs for fine hair

Instagram @hairpin_me_down85

To me, this bob hairstyle with bangs is a fairly contemporary classic. It has strong, clean lines and an interesting fringe that complements her beautiful angular face!

This look is perfect for the woman who doesn’t mind a little maintenance required to upkeep their hair, as well as for someone with straight to wavy texture. It doesn’t require much heat styling to make it gorgeous!

Your best friend will be a lightweight hair serum when wet, and a dry texturizer once the hair is dry.

Modern Bob with Middle Part Bangs

modern bob with middle part bangs

Instagram @leventkilic0

This style is a mix of modern and classic. The textured, face-framing bangs are shaggy and modern. The bottom features a classic blunt cut, and the blunt line makes her face come alive.

I recommend this look for any fashionable woman. The blunt bob pairs perfectly with 70s, 80s, and 90s fashion, meaning that it is designed to place the emphasis on the clothes.

Pink Lob Dreams

Q&A with style creator, Jess Basham
Hair Artist @ Heatwave Salon in Ridgecrest, CA

How would you describe this look?

I would describe this look as an edgy textured lob with a full fringe. I had SO much fun creating this look with my client! She gave me free reign on both color and design.

We cut five inches off her hair and it was her first time ever having a bang! This color was a triple process with many treatments in between, so anyone considering this look needs to know it isn’t something that happens quickly.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I suggest having patience in the lifting process and understand the maintenance needed for the color, and especially for the bangs. Proper home care products are absolutely needed as well!

I styled her hair using Redken Velvet Gelatin 07, Redken Satinwear 04, and Redken Iron Shape 11, then finished with Sebastian Shaper Plus. I also used a 1-inch iron to create her waves.

Mod Middle Part Bob with Curtain Bangs

Blonde bob with curtain bangs

Instagram @hairbykaitlynbrown

This mod lob with a curtain bang is a fun and edgy way to wear a shorter style! It’s perfect for women who are thinking about bangs, but don’t want to commit.

My advice is to stay on the longer side and slowly take the bangs shorter as you get used to having something around your face. They do have to be styled to give them this look, but they lay nicely for those lazy days too!

To style, blow the curtain bangs out by over directing them to get the swoop and using a 1 1/4-inch curling iron to add textured waves. Lots of texture is key, so any product to give the hair grit is best. I use sea salt spray on wet hair and lots of dry texture spray once the hair is dry!

Sleek Bob with Bangs for Dark Skin

Q&A with style creator, Jagoda Hall
Owner / Creative Director @ Salon Cyan in Downtown London, ON

How would you describe this look?

We created this sleek, modern bob with multidimensional mocha tones. I love how the bangs draw attention to her eyes and bone structure, while the color warms her skin tone.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Something to keep in mind for this style is that it will require some styling in the morning with a blow dryer and/or a flat iron. The amount of styling depends on the client’s natural texture, but this may not be for your “wash and go” personalities.

In terms of face shape, this is NOT best suited for people with shorter faces (round or square) as it might close the face off.

Face-Framing Long Bob with Fringe

face-framing long bob with fringe

This look is a textured, long bob with bangs that are face-framing and it’s very versatile.

This style is recommended for women who have a straight or wavy natural hair type, or a client who wants to elongate their face shape. This style can be straightened, curled, or left with the natural hair texture for a wash-and-go routine.

With the inverted style cut, the length is preserved in the front to draw your eyes to that length. This cut is recommended to ladies looking to be trendy, yet low-maintenance.

Wavy Bob with Bangs on Blonde Hair

Q&A with style creator, Jacqui Cubitt
Owner @ Jacqui Cubitt Hair in Mermaid Beach, Australia

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I describe this wavy bob cut with bangs as effortless beauty. My favorite thing about it is that it is simple and carefree! You can style it to look polished and finished, or style it to look messy and effortless. The bangs really complete the look.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

This look is super low maintenance with next to no product usage needed. Use a good shampoo and conditioner paired with a leave-in and a touch of sea salt spray and this look will be complete.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look so versatile and would suit many different people from a young insta model to a mom that wants a bit of style without all the hard work.

Blunt Lob With Shattered Fringe

Blunt lob with shattered fringe

Instagram @ayhanonluel

This is a blunt lob with soft, shattered fringe. I love the contrast of soft and whispy next to blunt and angular.

For moveable but defined texture, use R+Co Death Valley at the roots and throughout the ends. To give the bangs separation, use Kevin Murphy’s Bedroom.Hair, pinching tiny sections of her fringe while spraying them in place.

A bob haircut with bangs like this is great for heart shaped and oval faces and either straight or slightly wavy hair. The bangs can be high maintenance, so this look is best for a woman that doesn’t mind coming in every two to three weeks for a bang trim.

Sweet Short Bob with Bangs

sweet short bob with bangs

Instagram @ciprianvaidahair

Consider a short bob with straight bangs and hair that gets slightly longer toward the sides and front.

Style the bangs by combing them straight forward until fully dry. Either air dry (if you have slightly wavy hair) or hand dry the rest of the hair with your hands and finish with a brush for smoothness.

Texturized Graduated Bob with Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Estefan King
Student @ Aveda Institute South Florida in Fort Lauderdale, FL

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a graduated bob with wispy bangs and a lot of texture. My favorite part of this bob is that it requires very minimal styling and it is perfect for women and men with busy lifestyles. It is a very low maintenance haircut.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

For this model, we used a leave-in (Aveda’s Daily Hair Repair) to protect the integrity of the hair from previous coloring services. I also applied this to her hair before cutting because it doubles as a cutting lotion. I used a light foam (Aveda’s Phomollient) for volume. When paired with the Daily Hair Repair it gives the perfect smooth blowout!

To finish, we used a pomade (Aveda’s Anti Humectant) to give the hair some shine and protect from the humidity.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

Bob hairstyles with bangs are great for people that are looking for a change but don’t want a ton of maintenance. This also depends on your hair texture though. For my curly/kinky girls, this cut will turn into a tapered afro/curls depending on the tightness of your texture, but it is a great look. For my wavy/straight textures, this is good for the girl that doesn’t want to style every day. You can achieve some great looks with a natural wave or straight hair on textured bobs.

I also believe that most haircuts can be tailored to fit the person’s face shape. It is the job of the stylist to help you determine whether this style is the perfect fit or not.

Blonde Bob with Straight Bangs

Instagram @bydecolulea

A blonde bob cut with straight bangs can easily be pulled off in any office or event!

A great smoothing cream won’t weigh your hair down but helps to smooth and soften it with a light hold. Try Pravana’s Model Behavior.

Confident beauties with a heart-shaped face wear this look best, while hair that is medium to fine in thickness and straight to wavy will make it easy to style.

If blonde doesn’t pop enough for you, try any of the colors of the rainbow! Violet, blue, pink, teal, or any pastel or neon shade could work with this cut and style as well.

As Good as Gold

Buttery Blonde Bob with Bangs

Instagram @tiah.maria_rinsdhair

A buttery golden blonde creates a bold yet soft look that is great for fairer skin tones. Paired with blunt bangs and a bob, the look is a total showstopper.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a medium hold gel to damp hair.
  2. Blow dry hair using a large round brush or flat brush, smoothing ends under as you dry.
  3. If needed, use a flat iron to smooth out any ends and the bangs.
  4. Apply a smoothing oil to finish look.

Recommended Products:

Try Biolage Agave Nectar Control Gel. It gives a soft, touchable hold and controls frizz.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Heart, diamond and oval face shapes look great in this blunt bob, while hair that is medium in density and naturally straight will make it easiest to recreate this look.

Less is more with professional styling products. Always start off with less product and add more if needed rather than ending up with too much and making your hair harder to style.

Wispy Fringe

Bob hairstyle with wispy fringe

Instagram @jess_stanski_hair

A soft, wispy fringe takes the edge off this dark look. Heart shaped faces wear this look best, while hair that is fine in texture and naturally straight is best for recreating this look. Even if your hair is not fine, you can still achieve this look. Switch out the thickening cream for a straightening cream instead, and flat iron everything after blow drying.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a thickening cream to damp hair.
  2. Blow dry hair in sections using a medium round brush. Just use a vent brush on your bangs though.
  3. Use a flat iron to smooth any ends or bangs.
  4. Finish look with a light hairspray.

Recommended Products:

Try Matrix Blow Out Big Queen to add volume and body to fine hair.

Bold with Blunt Bangs

Blonde bob with blunt bangs

Instagram @rocknrulos

This look needs no introduction! Platinum blonde, hue, bold bangs and layers give it an edgy look that can be tamed down for day wear and played up for the evening.

How To Style:

  1. While hair is still damp, apply a medium hold gel mixed with a texturizing cream.
  2. Blow dry hair without a brush, moving it in different directions as you dry. Once almost dry, switch to using a vented brush to dry bangs and the hair around the face.
  3. Mist dry hair with a texture spray.
  4. Use a flat iron to give different pieces a blunt look, including the bangs.
  5. Using a paste, pinch your ends and give separation to layers.

Recommended Products:

A great texture spray that can be layered to add more hold is Pravana’s Invisible Control. It can be used wet or dry to create all sorts of textured looks.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Any face shape can wear this bold look, while hair that is medium to thick in texture and naturally straight is easiest to recreate this look.

This cut looks amazing with any shade of hair color, so if vibrant colors aren’t your thing, that’s ok. Still give this cut a try!

Bright Swing

This swing bob with blunt cut bangs is a great way to play up naturally straight hair. The bonus is adding a few bright pieces around your face!

Style by Robin Cook, Makeup by Candice Holloway, Tangles Salon, Wichita Falls, TX

How To Style:

  1. Apply a straightening cream throughout damp hair.
  2. Blow dry hair in sections using a flat brush, smoothing hair straight down and towards your face.
  3. Using the lowest heat setting for your hair type, smooth hair and bangs with a flat iron.
  4. Finish look with a shine spray, just make sure not to hold it too close to your hair when spraying.

Recommended Products:

Shine sprays are a fabulous product to have in your arsenal. Try Pravana’s VIVIDS shine spray. It has mega doses of sunscreen to protect your hair and smells amazing!

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Straight locks that are medium to thick wear this swing bob best, while heart, round and square face shapes look fabulous sporting this style.

Clip-in hair extensions can help create a new look every time you use them. Grab some in assorted colors to create a rainbow, or just one color to wear on the weekends if work doesn’t allow fashion colors.

Face Framed

face framing bob with bangs and purple highlights colored

A bold outline framing your face can bring our all your best features. Heart face shapes wear this look best, while hair that can be straightened out and is medium to thick in texture is perfect for creating this ultra-straight style.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a straightening cream to damp hair and comb through to ensure it is evenly distributed.
  2. Blow dry hair in sections using a flat brush, working curls out and smoothing strands down.
  3. Once hair is completely dry, flat iron in sections starting underneath in the back. Pin any hair not being ironed out of your way as you work.
  4. Finish with a lightweight hair oil for shine and frizz control.

Beachy Waves

Soft, beach-inspired waves paired with beautiful blonde layers and side-swept bangs is a great easy look.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a sea salt spray to damp hair.
  2. Blow dry hair scrunching with hands, or use a diffuser.
  3. Using a large barrel curling iron or wand, wrap sections of hair starting in the middle and curling almost to ends. Alternate directions of your waves to give your style this lived-in look.
  4. Apply texture powder to hands and scrunch though hair to give separation and extra texture.

Recommended Products:

I am obsessed with Pravana’s Lived In Powder Potion. It gives the most amazing texture and volume. Apply in your hands and work slightly to transform it into a light pomade. As you apply the product, it goes back to a fine powder and never gets gritty on the scalp.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Heart, round and oval face shapes wear this soft wave beautifully. Hair that is fine to medium in thickness and naturally wavy or straight works well to recreate this look.

A great curling iron is key to achieving beautiful curls that last. Look at a few at Ulta or your local beauty supply, and then check online reviews to find the right iron for you.

This look works well on all face shapes. Finer hair types may want to use a volumizing product to avoid flat hair.

This is a great look for thicker and curlier hair types who want a ‘wash and go’ look.

Accented Sleek Bob

accented sleek bob haircut

Instagram @nikitenko_elen_

This is a very clean and modern look with a twist on the fringe. The little pop of color is subtle and stands out in a very cute way. This could be a conservative crowd pleaser as well as a look for the fashion-forward. This look works well on all face shapes. Finer hair types may want to use a little less product to avoid build-up.

Ruby Red

Without a doubt, this beautiful bob is an attention-getter. With the ruby red lowlights strategically placed in the fringe and around her face, this softly layered bob is a stunner.

How To Style:

  1. Starting with clean, wet hair, apply a root lifter in the crown to give some volume. Then apply a smoothing serum starting at the ends. This will help speed up drying time as well as prevent frizz when drying.
  2. Blow dry in sections starting at the bottom. Use a small paddle brush for the bottom part of the hair, using the curve of your head as your guide. By pulling your hair from side to side as you are drying, you will achieve the straightness at the bottom without the volume
  3. As you move up, start to use a small to medium size round brush. Take the round brush and pull sections of the hair from the root out. This will give you volume as well as smooth the hair.
  4. When hair is completely, dry take a dime-sized amount of polishing cream, emulsify into your hands and run it through your hair to add definition and shine.
  5. Top off this beautiful style with a lightweight hairspray.

Recommended Products:

You will see that I will recommend a lot of Aquage products because they WORK! For volume, use their Uplifting Foam. The smoothing serum I use on almost everyone is Silkening Oil. Finish off with their Detailing Creme and Finishing Spray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This is such a versatile style for every face shape. I would recommend this type of cut and style for normal to fine hair because it will add volume and movement.

Ask your stylist to place red lowlights throughout your hair. To put the focus on bringing out your eyes, have them concentrate the placement a little heavier in the fringe and around your face.

Peek-A-Boo Baby

The compliments won’t stop with these peek-a-boo bangs! With the blunt edges, cut out fringe and warm coppery hue, you are sure to exude confidence.

Peek a Boo Asymmetric Bangs With Bob Hairstyle

Style by Krista Feiste

How To Style:

  1. Apply a quarter-sized amount of straightening gel to damp, towel dried hair.
  2. Using a small to medium paddle brush, begin drying your hair, starting with the bangs.
  3. Brush and blow dry bangs forward. If you have any cowlicks in the front I recommend taking the brush and moving your bangs back in forth in the opposite direction as you dry. This will help get that “bump” out of the bang and help them to lay smooth.
  4. After hair is 100% dry, use your flat iron to seal the cuticle and get that sexy, glossy look.
  5. Starting with small sections at the bottom, use a heat protecting spray. Spray about six inches away from hair. You do not want to saturate the strand.
  6. Run your flat iron from roots to ends, going over each section no more than two times. You don’t want to burn or damage your hair!
  7. When done smoothing the hair, finish with a lightweight pomade to add definition.

Recommended Products:

Paul Mitchell’s Straight Works is ideal for this style. The best heat protectant spray I have ever used is Aquage’s Beyond Shine. It’s ultra lightweight so it does not leave a greasy residue on your hair. Pravana’s Detail Shine & Define is an excellent pomade to smooth flyaways and add definition to this sharp cut.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This style is suitable for round and oval face shapes. Any hair type could rock this cut and style. It can add weight to thin, fine hair or minimize weight from thick, course hair.

Let your stylist know that you want your bangs cut at an angle. Going from short to long, have the bangs start out short right above your brow, gradually getting longer on the other side.

Long Layered Bob with Bangs

Instagram @misstifferz

With a few subtle highlights and a softly textured fringe, this long layered bob with bangs is as classic as they come.

This amazing style works best on round, oval, and heart-shaped faces. All hair types work with this cut and style.

When asking your stylist for this cut, ask for long layers that are cut blunt on the ends and softly textured bangs.

Flirty Fringe

Instagram @studio_marteena

Add some spunk to this chin-length bob with a fall hair color like this darker brown. Along with the side-swept, flirty fringe, this style is sophisticated enough for the office yet sassy enough for the evening.

Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic and Brilliant Medium Hold Spray are excellent tools to help you to achieve this style. I love the ceramic round brushes by Cricket. They don’t snag or pull the hair and give a nice polished look.

Ask your stylist for a chin-length bob with long layers. For the fringe, ask for a longer side-swept bang.

Pastel Blonde Bob with Bangs

This pastel blonde is icing on the cake. It turns this basic bob and bangs combo into a serious show stopper!

Use Biomega’s BeHave for a smoothing elixir. It has a creamy consistency, smells beautiful, and smooths the cuticle for a straight, silky finish. To add shine and separation to the hair, use Biomega’s Text Me. It’s pliable, lightweight, and very easy to work with.

This cut and style work best for round and oval face shapes. If you have fine or thin hair, this cut will help give you the fullness you desire.

Ask your stylist for a blunt cut with a small amount of layering at the bottom.

Opt for a beautiful blunt bob with bangs when choosing your next haircut.

To style, use Moroccan Oil. It’s a great product that can be used on both wet and dry hair. A boar bristle flat brush is a perfect smoothing brush and Denman makes a great one.

This particular length of bob is fab for oval, long, and square-shaped faces. The look also works great with all hair types.

20 Fantastic Bob Hairstyles for Older Women

01of 20

A Natural Bob

A look like actress Viola Davis's is all about embracing your natural texture. Use a combination of curl cream, hair oil, and styling gel to define and enhance your curl pattern.

02of 20

A Versatile Lob

If you currently have longer hair and are looking to tip-toe into the short hair trend, start with a lob that hits somewhere just above or just below your shoulders. Longer than a traditional bob cut, the aptly named "lob" haircut is a favorite for its versatility. Long enough to pull back if you need, yet short enough to classify as short, the mid-length lob allows you to not feel tied down to any single style. Hair this length looks just as good when you let it air-dry naturally (like model Lauren Hutton's style shown here) as it does when you style it with a blow-dryer or flat iron.

03of 20

Shoulder-Length Beach Waves

If you want to leave a little more length to your hair, this is an excellent option for all face shapes and hair colors. To get this naturally wavy bob, loosely wrap hair around a 1.5-2 inch curling iron. The slight bend will bring out the dimension of highlighted strands, as Halle Berry proves.

04of 20

A Sleek, Layered Bob

This sleek, rounded bob with a few minimal layers proves that a simple hairstyle can still be bold and not at all boring, as evidenced by actress Glenn Close. "For this look, blunt cuts make your hair appear fuller," says Nichole. "One side is tucked behind her ear and wispy. This allows her face to be seen but still adds a little mystery with the long side bang."

For a finish this smooth, straight, and shiny, use ultra-thin sections of hair when flat-ironing it to straighten each strand evenly. Then, warm a little bit of oil between your palms and run it through the ends of your hair to finish the look.

05of 20

Part Pixie, Part Bob

Not quite a pixie cut but not a bob, this hybrid hairstyle has all the edginess of a super-short crop but with a little more softness to it. If your hair has a natural wave, scrunch it to style. If you have straighter hair, use a styling wand to give your strands a cool bend like Tilda Swinton's.

06of 20

A Blown-Out Layered Bob

We're all about a blown-out bob that shows off long layers. "Shorter cuts can sometimes take more effort to maintain and style, but can also look very chic," notes Thomas. Create piece-y texture with a wax pomade for a more lived-in look, or wear it freshly blown out for a softer finish like Oprah.

07of 20

A Classic Bob

A classic bob such as fashion designer Eileen Fisher's is perfect for creating volume in finer hair textures that get easily weighed down by longer lengths. Keep in mind that to maintain the shape of a classic bob, you'll likely need trims every six to eight weeks. If you're not someone who likes to commit very much time or money to your hair routine, you might want to consider a more textured look that grows out nicely.

08of 20

A Cool Shag

Possibly the coolest bob style to ever exist, the shaggy bob with choppy layers has a rocker vibe to it, which is why it's perfect for those who find the classic bob a bit too simple. Tina Turner's version is loose but still looks sophisticated.

09of 20

An A-Line Bob

Yolanda Hadid's cut is slightly shorter in the back than the front, which allows for great movement and an angle that can be seen from the side. Whether you know it as the graduated bob, inverted bob, or A-line bob, this asymmetrical take on the classic cut has a youthful, edgy vibe. To give your hair body and height at the crown, ask your stylist for stacks of layers that are shorter in the back and longer in the front.

10of 20

A Blunt Bob

Anna Wintour's iconic blunt bob with matching blunt bangs is a bold look that proves the short crop is anything but boring. The length of a classic bob tends to be one to two inches below the chin, but work with your stylist to find the length that suits your features best. The key here is reducing flyaways and ensuring there's plenty of volume and shape throughout the style.

11of 20

A Rounded Bob

Not all bobs have to have layers or be blunt—sometimes something in between can take your look to the next level. Try a simple cut with rounded body like Loretta Devine. It's an excellent way to put the focus on your hair color and shine.

12of 20

A Middle-Part Bob

Angela Bassett's sleek, middle-parted bob is proof that the look can be incredibly sophisticated. Nichole says it's "a great low-maintenance style that accentuates and elongates the jawbone and neck." Better yet, it's easy to achieve by using "a 1.5-inch flatiron, some serum, and some shine spray."

13of 20

A Bob With Subtle Layers

If you have straight hair, consider this bob. Although it might appear to be cut all one length, the subtle layering throughout and a slightly shorter length in the back keep the finished look from feeling heavy and weighed down.

14of 20

A Voluminous Bob

Whether you have natural curls or not, you can achieve these defined tendrils with the use of a curling wand—but only after you've built the volume first with a fresh blowout. For natural curls like Alfre Woodard's, work in Az Haircare's Captivate Structure Géle ($41) for both hold and volume.

A big part of the success of Jane Fonda's look, seen here, is also her hair's color. "If you color your hair a darker shade but your natural color is gray, consider going lighter," suggests Thomas. "When you color your hair brown, gray roots show up quickly. Gray roots will blend more subtly with blonde hair and not be such a stark contrast. The color will also be much easier to maintain."

15of 20

A Sleek, Slicked Bob

The ultimate cool-girl style, a sleek wet look—seen here on model Maye Musk—can be pulled off by any hair type and at any age. If your bob is too short to wear in an updo, but you'd like your hair pulled back to keep the focus on your outfit, this is one super-cool way to achieve that.

16of 20

A Curly Bob

Who says curly bobs can't have bangs? Have your stylist break up the length of your cut with a few shorter curls around your eyes to frame your face, à la Gayle King.

17of 20

A Youthful Bob

Iman's sleek, stylish bob feels both trendy and timeless. The shape perfectly frames Iman's face and brings extra attention to her eyes with her side-swept bangs.

18of 20

An Asymmetrical Bob

Shorter on one side, longer on the other—the angle of this haircut (seen on fashion icon Linda Fargo) adds interest to the otherwise simple style. Though it would look equally great worn wavy and textured, the straight edge emphasizes the asymmetry in the best way.

19of 20

A Smooth Bob

Lots of layers don't necessarily make it a choppy haircut—take this smooth, voluminous bob, for instance. By having your stylist cut in many layers, it adds volume to thinner hair that might lay a little flat. To blow-dry a sleek lob, begin with a volumizing shampoo and mousse if you have fine hair. Use a large paddle brush rather than a rounded brush to get the ends to curl under.

Bob With Blunt Bangs

Actress Cicely Tyson's bob with bangs frames her face well and requires little in the way of styling; a smoothing cream and light misting of hairspray should do the trick.

Trendy Short Bob Haircuts and Hairstyles with Bangs 2021

5 Super Chic Bob Hairstyles With Bangs

If you’ve thought about getting a bob or bangs (or maybe both?) dozens of times but changed your mind just as many, maybe now’s the right moment to finally give the cropped hairstyle a try. Both timeless and trendy, a bob haircut with bangs is the best of both worlds for someone bored with their current style and looking to switch things up. “It’s a classic shape that looks good on a lot of different hair types,” says Shelly Aguirre, a stylist at Maxine Salon in Chicago, of the bob. “Adding a fringe to this classic cut can be creative and fun.”

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that this shorter cut doesn’t necessarily translate to less styling. Kylee Heath, a celebrity hairstylist and R+Co Collective member, says if you currently have long hair that’s low maintenance, a bob with bangs may take a little getting used to until you figure out how you like to wear it. Not only that, but your hair type and texture will largely determine how easy or hard it is to style, according to Michelle Sultan, brand ambassador and creative director for hair care brand Imbue. But despite the challenges, Aguirre adds that lots of hair textures can rock this look, and working with your stylist can help you find what’s best for you based on how much time and effort you’re willing to put into your style.

There are many variations of the bob haircut with bangs that’ll suit not only your hair type and texture but also your lifestyle. Ahead, five bob hairstyles with fringe to help inspire your fresh chop.

1. The Blunt Bob With Bangs

Blunt is always a classic hairstyle choice. “If the hair texture allows it, a blunt fringe looks great,” Aguirre says, noting a blunt bob is ideal for someone with thinner hair. If you have curly hair and are looking to wear your bob more straight, Heath says to be ready to put a little work in with styling.

If your hair isn’t naturally straight, achieving a sleek, smooth finish might require blow-drying or heat-styling your hair to really highlight the blunt ends and straight-across cut, so Heath recommends starting with a spritz of something like the R+Co One Prep Spray throughout the strands. “This will give your style longevity while protecting it from heat, which is so important — especially with bangs,” Heath says. “Your hair in the front is generally [finer], so you need to protect it.” If you have wavy or thick hair and want to try this straight bob cut without all the styling time, Aguirre suggests asking your stylist about a smoothing keratin treatment.

2. The Curly Bob With Bangs

A curly bob with bangs is an effortlessly cool look that’s worth any extra effort it might take to style. “Some people have cowlicks, low hairlines, widow’s peaks, or more than one type of curl on their head,” Sultan explains. “This can all determine how the style will be cut and should definitely be considered as an additional factor when choosing this look.” With curly bangs, the stylist will have to adjust the length of the cut based on the tightness of the coil to accommodate for shrinkage, which is why Sultan says it’s super important to make sure that the stylist cutting your hair truly understands hair growth patterns, curl type, and density.

If you love a free-flowing, touchable finish, Sultan says you’ll want to reach for a sulfate-free shampoo to cleanse the hair without dehydrating it and stick with lightweight styling products that allow for the natural cut pattern to take shape, such as the Pattern Styling Cream or Imbue Curl Inspiring Conditioning Leave-In Spray. What’s more, lightweight formulas are ideal for a haircut that touches the face because you don’t want your strands to feel greasy or for any heavy products to block pores on your forehead.

3. The Bob With Baby Bangs

One simple way to switch up the vibe of your haircut is to experiment with the length of both your bangs and your bob. One look Heath loves? Baby bangs. “If you have straight hair, a baby bang could be so easy and just give you an automatic style,” she says. That said, be sure to ask your stylist what will work best for your hair type and face shape.

Of course, frequent trims would be necessary to maintain the length of micro bangs, so determining the right length of the fringe is something you’ll also want to chat about with your stylist. “Whatever the shape that you and your stylist decide on, keeping up with your haircut will keep the look fresh,” Aguirre stresses. One more thing: Stock up on dry shampoo. “Bangs and dry shampoo make very good friends,” Heath adds.

4. The Layered Bob With Bangs

If you’re looking for a cut that’s a little more versatile, try layers and a soft fringe, like a curtain bang or sweeping bang. Although this bob cut still might need a refresh every now and then, fringe with face-framing layers helps the grow-out period go a little smoother and, generally, requires less maintenance. Aguirre says a bob with layers works particularly well for those with wavy, thick hair to avoid the boxy look. If you want to play up the texture of your bob, Aguirre recommends using a curling iron and texture spray to change the overall look of this very classic shape.

5. The Air-Dried Bob With Bangs

Another one of Heath’s favorite ways to wear a bob with bangs is via a cut that’s a little longer and parts in the middle, making it wear well right out of the shower. “An air-dried bob with bangs looks so cute,” Heath says, adding that it might need a couple of subtle tweaks in the front with a flat iron or small curling iron, but it’s worth any extra time it may take. To get this look on wavy to curly hair, Heath suggests only combing the hair while it’s soaking wet, then scrunching in a curl or air-dry cream and allowing the hair time to dry or diffusing it on a low setting.

“The nice thing with a bob is that you’re able to create lots of different looks within one haircut — straight and sleek to wavy and textured,” Aguirre says. “Bottom line, have fun and don’t overthink it.”

Now discussing:

A bob with bangs is the first thing that comes to mind when you start thinking about short hairstyles. And there is no wonder why as it seems that this cut has been popular forever and so it will stay. There is not even a single celebrity who hasn’t tried it once or twice. This is perfect if you want a more polished and refined look that is still fun and has feminine feel. To style, blow dry straight and then run a flat iron through your hair for a sleek finish.

Credit photo:

Side bangs are a fantastic way to add a visual angle to your face shape while keeping your forehead and brows open. Though this type of bangs can be pretty flexible in terms of length and texture, we want you to focus on the duo it can create with a mid-length bob. Not only do these bangs seamlessly blend with the rest of the hair but they also serve as a stunning textured complement to its wavy look. To recreate this idea, you need to get a slightly layered haircut. Note that if you go for layers, they should also hit your bangs to form a balanced look.

Wispy Bob With Layers And Bangs

Credit photo:

Here comes another example of a haircut that follows the texture of its bangs to reach harmony. Have you ever heard of a wispy bob? Since bob and bangs allow for various customizations, they can blend into an airy layered texture that will give a lightweight finish for the whole look. If you have fine hair that tends to fall flat, it’s not just a good idea. It’s a must that will make you fall in love with your own hair. By the way, this duo looks its best when it’s messy and tousled, so make sure to get some texturizing product.

Chin-Length Choppy Bob

Credit photo:

There’s nothing like a bob with finely chopped edges and a wispy fringe finishing the look. In fact, bangs are like exclamation points that you add to your hair story to give more character to it. Here, it’s hard not to see the flirty vibe of the transparent fringe: it literally changes the mood of the entire look. Whether your hair is thin or thick, such a length is the happy medium for those seeking volume and balance, as it won’t outweigh the locks. Give this cut a slight wave to reveal its full potential!

Credit photo:

The angular fringe in this haircut goes so harmonically with the rest of the hair that we bet these two belong together. Apart from drastically changing the way your hair and face look, bangs can also enhance some prominent features of your haircut. This jagged bob consists of thick sharp layers that fascinate with their edginess. And what makes the look not just complete but special is the way long side bangs blend with the cut, giving it one more angle to steal the show.

Credit photo:

Now it’s really all about angles. So no wonder the cut features side bangs again: they’re the best weapon to intensify the beauty of angles in your cut. Though the fringe doesn’t melt with the cut seamlessly, the way it stands out is just to die for. Besides, do you notice the play of angles? These sharp bangs point out in the opposite direction, adding a playful twist to this angular ensemble. To get the most of this look, style your hair with a round brush and hairdryer, giving it pass of a plat iron in the end for a polished finish.

FAQ: Bob With Bangs

Do bobs look good with bangs?

There are numerous kinds of bobs that go really well with bangs, for example, a lob, angled, stacked, A-line, inverted or blunt. Basically, no matter what face shape and hair type you have, there’s always a stunning bob that will suit you (short or long, layered or textured). Just add some sassy bangs to the mix, and you’ve got a killer look!

Do bangs make you look older?

Smooth bangs that gradually integrate into the rest of your hair are the most universally favorable, so ask your hairdresser for them. It’s not a secret that hair thins as you get older, and sparse strands add years to your appearance. You can ask your hairdresser for layers that will add a boost of volume to your hair and make it look thicker.

How far back should bangs go?

It may seem strange, but the length of a fringe on the forehead should always be in control. Starting two inches back from your hairline if there is not much space between your brows and hairline is a wise decision if you want to make a smaller forehead look larger.
