Remove or Install Front or Rear Wheel - Generic Instructions

When removing and installing a wheel on your vehicle, always follow these generic instructions, but for more information please refer to your owner's manual. When lifting your vehicle, make sure you use the proper equipment and that you only lift the vehicle from the jacking points, one wheel at the time. Always block the opposite wheel from the one you are working on with two wheel chokes on both side of the wheel to prevent the car from rolling and fall of the jack while you're working on it. Never get under the vehicle when it is resting only on the jack.

  • Always release the wheel lockable nuts or bolts by hand (use a breaker bar) and NOT by using an impact drill. Do not jump or use your foot on the breaker bar.
  • Remove dirt, grease residues and corrosion from rim and wheel hub contact surfaces.
  • Check brake disc retaining bolt for tight fit.
  • Apply anti-seize paste on the wheel centring in the wheel rim.
  • Clean wheel bolts or nuts and check threads for damage, renew if necessary. Renew corroded wheel bolts. Attention! Do not apply oil or grease to wheel studs or bolts.
  • The wheel rim must rest uniformly against the brake disc.
  • Screw in the wheel bolts or lug nuts and evenly tighten by hand in a crosswise sequence in order to centre the wheel rim.
  • Tighten the wheel bolts or lug nuts to the specified tightening toque in a crosswise sequence using a calibrated torque wrench.
  • Check all wheel bolts or lug nuts in the same sequence and retighten to the prescribed tightening torque if necessary.
  • Under no circumstances use pneumatic or electric screwdrivers to screw in and tighten the wheel bolts.

Ford Explorer Lug Nut Torque Setting

What is the wheel lug nut torque setting for a Ford Explorer?

 Ft-Lbs ( N·m)

When do you need this information?

Whether you are changing a flat tire, you are swapping a wheel, or any type of work that requires you to remove the wheel on your Ford Explorer, it is important that you use the manufacturer's recommended wheel nut torque for your vehicle. To properly tighten your wheel nuts to the manufacturer's recommended specs -  Ft-Lbs ( N·m) - you will need an accurate and properly calibrated torque wrench. Please make sure that the wheel nuts or bolts are torqued while the wheel is "in the air" but the vehicle has been lowered, which means the wheel has to be as close to the ground as possible, almost touching the ground or pavement (use wheel chokes to stop the wheel from spinning when torquing the wheel nuts or bolts). This is to ensure proper torque reading and wheel setting.

Advertisements

WARNING! Not using the proper jacking equipment, tools, and proper wheel lug nut or bolt torquing technique, might result in serious injury and vehicle damage! Proper lug nut or bolt torque is very important to ensure that the wheel is properly mounted to the vehicle. Any time a wheel has been removed and reinstalled on the vehicle, the lug nuts/bolts should be torqued using a properly calibrated torque wrench using a high quality six sided (hex) deep wall socket. After 25 miles (40 km), check the lug nut/bolt torque to be sure that all the lug nuts / bolts are properly seated against the wheel.

The wheel nut torque setting presented on this page has been collected from the Owner's Manual for your Ford Explorer, published by Ford Canada.

The hostess took the first one, and Masha handed it over. Have a drink, she boldly ordered her. Masha drank, and Taisya took her tightly by the hair and guided her into her pussy. She buried her hard and twisted her head, masturbating herself with it. Then she pulled her sharply out of there.
