We are a team of Anqels dedicated to savinq animals from the San Bernardino Shelter and findinq them permanent homes.
About Our Rescue Group…
RESCUE is the last voice for dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, find themselves awaiting death at local shelters. Angels for Animals is a California 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter. All of the dogs we rescue are in loving foster homes where they are rehabilitated, socialized and receive all of the medical treatment they need so they can be placed in their forever home.
We consider any animal that’s passed its “due out date” to be at risk for euthanasia at any time. We work with shelters and volunteers to pull the animal and get them into a foster home and ready for adoption as soon as possible. Since we don’t operate an actual shelter we rely on foster homes to help save these at risk animals.
After pulling an animal we transport them to their new foster home and start the process of getting them ready for adoption. All animals will be spayed/neutered, brought UTD (up to date) on all of their shots, and microchiped. A adoption fee is required to help replace the funds spent on rescuing each dog and getting him or her ready for adoption.

Need weekend plans? Check out the Angels for Animals garage sale
CANFIELD, Ohio — Angels for Animals is an animal shelter in Canfield that helps tens of thousands of animals annually.
What You Need To Know
- Angels for Animals to host their 27th annual gigantic garage sale
- The event will raise money to help animals in need
- The garage sale will take place from April 23-25
Diane Less is the founder of Angels for Animals and has a passion for helping animals in need.
“We're basically the ultimate animal saving facility," Less explained. "We have a full-service vet clinic and seven veterinarians, and all of them have special pet powers.”
Serving the community by caring for animals is not cheap, which is why they have been hosting their "gigantic garage sale" annually for the last 27 years.
Less said this fundraiser is the shelters biggest one of the year.
“This garage sale will pay for one vet for one year," said Less. "That’s a big deal.”
Members of the community lined up outside of the Canfield Fairgrounds over the weekend to donate enough merchandise to fill six large buildings.
"All kinds of brand new clothing, bedding, furniture — I mean it is amazing," said Less. "A lot of stuff here still has the tags on it. I mean people buy things and they just don’t use it, so they give it to us.”
To sort through and organize all of the donations requires the help of around 500 volunteers.
Donna Spencer has been volunteering for Angels for Animals for more than a decade.
“We’ve all been doing this for years so this is kind of a reunion for us when we get together to do this," Spencer said. "We all have a good time.”
For Spencer, the hours she spends volunteering during the weeks leading up to the garage sale are more than an emoloyee might spend at a typical full-time job, but she's happy to give her time to what she deems as a worthy cause.
“I just think that Angels for Animals is one of the best organizations for cats and dogs," Spencer explained. "Anytime you can support something like that, you should do it.”
The garage sale will take place April 23-25 at the Canfield Fairgrounds for more information on garage sale hours, click here.

Support Adoption and Rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?
Why Should You Adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
