Dell inspiron 660 ram upgrade

Hi,

I had another similar thread a while back about maximum amount of RAM, but this regards a completely different computer.

I need to know the maximum amount of RAM for the Dell Inspiron 660. It was shipped with 6 Gb RAM (1 x 2 Gb, 1 x 4 Gb). I have Googled and found so many contradicting suggestions regarding what the maximum RAM this computer can hold is. Dell claims 8 Gb, while a person on a different forum says he successfully installed 2 x 8 Gb RAM sticks and it worked, while another source claims 32 Gb is the maximum. Furthermore, there is / were Dell Inspiron 660s sold with 16 Gb, another indication that Dell is wrong when they say 8 is the maximum.

In my other thread, moderator britechguy suggested that I should use the Crucial System Scanner to find out. Unfortunately the software wouldn't run on my system, it just opens up a file:///C:/Users/username/Downloads/sysprofile.htm tab in Firefox (?). Instead, I ran Piriform's Speccy and this is what it reported about my motherboard and chipset:

Which suggests 32 Gb would be the maximum, but I'm doubting that is correct. Can someone please confirm? I hate to buy a bunch of memory sticks I can't use.

Well, I finally bought a Crucial pack of 2x8GB sticks (BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00) and it looks like it's working just fine with 16gb.
