My family has attended this church before it was ever this nice big facility, but I reached out for help and wasn't even considered... A flat no within 60 seconds... I have 5 children... I appreciate the consideration during this season of perpetual hope.

Children’s Home Sunday – October 31

“Brighten the corner where you are….”

At the end of September, we hosted a Certified Lay Servant Class for the district. Ten of our members participated in this class about Spiritual Gifts. Through the inventory of Spiritual Gifts, we learned that our congregational leadership is filled with gifts of God, especially faith, miracles, and healing. As we continue to walk together as the body of Christ we thank our God for these gifts that are given to us to encourage and strengthen us.

I am continually thanking our Lord for this congregation. For the love and care that members show each other, and the faithfulness as we walk together with the Holy Spirit.

The next class of Experiencing God will begin at 1 pm on Sunday, October 10. This is an excellent class to invite friends and family to join us.

This month of October is a time of preparation, as we open up the doors of the building for the coming seasons of Halloween, All Saints Day, Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas.

For Halloween, we will be doing a Trunk or Treat. For All Saints Day, we will recognize all of the deaths within the last year of our family and friends. Then we also have Charge Conference on the 7th of November. For Advent, we are planning a Cantata and Christmas Eve Service.

This week’s scripture is 1 Cor 12:12-27. I am meditating on Paul’s description of the Body of Christ and how we are all members of that body…and how all who call on the name of Jesus Christ are members of that body and how are we to respond to those whom we diagree within that Body. I continually ask, “What does this mean to me, to our congregation, to our denomination, to the Christian Church universal?” I challenge you to read this scripture and ask these questions.
