How to Use Teams on Your Mobile Device to Make Calls
Calling Using the Dialpad
- At the bottom of the screen, swipe up to expand the menu, and tap Calls.
- To access the dial pad, tap phone+ icon.
- On the dial pad, enter the digit phone number you are calling (e.g., ), and tap the phone icon.
NOTES:
You do not need to dial 9 to get an outside line.
To call on campus, dial 5.#### OR dial the digit number ####.
To call off campus, dial the full digit number (### . ### . ####).
Note: if you are dialing long-distance, after you dial the number (1+area code+number), you will hear a quick series of tone. Enter your long-distance PIN after the tones using the dial pad.
CAUTION: Use the dial pad on your mobile device to dial numbers from your personal phone number and to make emergency calls to your country-specific emergency number.

Hi ChinonsoEsomonu,
To my knowledge, to enable dial pad in Teams, it requires to set up calling plans and ensure that "Allow private calling" is enabled in the Teams calling policy. The dial pad won't appear if you just assign voice license to the user. For your reference, see Prerequisites for enabling the Dial Pad in Teams. And if you have any difficulty in the process, feel free to let me know.
Regards,
Marvin

Hi
There are actually 3 criteria that MUST be met in order for the dial pad to show up in Teams (I am using Direct Routing).
1. The user must have a voice license, like Phone System or Business Voice.
2. The user must have Enterprise Voice (EV) enabled. This is typically done in Powershell using Set-CsUser.
3. The user must be "granted" a Voice Routing Policy
I believe you also need to be assigned a calling plan if you are not using Direct Routing.
So the Powershell commands may look something like this
Set-CsUser -Identity *** Email address is removed for privacy *** -OnPremLineURI "tel:+;ext=" -EnterpriseVoiceEnabled $true
Grant-CsOnlineVoiceRoutingPolicy -Identity *** Email address is removed for privacy *** -PolicyName "Local-VRP"
where Local-VRP is the name of your voice routing policy, which will point to a voice route, which is your phone gateway.
This is assuming you already have one of the Microsoft Office licenses, but Business Basic, Business Standard or better will work.
You need an exchange online license for voicemail to work.
Hope this helps.
Grant

Microsoft Teams Phone Missing Dialpad
Recently we setup and installed Teams with Microsoft Business Voice using Yealink MP54 / T55a phones for a client. A post about replacing your business phone system with Teams will be forthcoming, but I wanted to post a quick resolution to a nagging issue we faced.
After we registered the phones to Teams we found that whenever we attempted to dial a number, the directory was searched and a call could not be placed. To get around this annoyance go to and choose DialPad instead of Speed Dials.
Where is the Dialpad option?
We discovered that some of the phones we deployed were missing the DialPad option. A few forum posts suggested removing the licenses, waiting and reapplying the licenses. We tried this without success. What fixed it for us was to logout of the phone and re-register the account. After that the dial-pad option was now available.

Adding Phone Extensions in Microsoft TeamsBut for some reason I don't need this knowledge to take your hand and go somewhere, to meet something, but forward. Having come to your senses already at the exit from the station, and realizing a complete ignorance of the area, you have already. Seized the initiative. And on top of that, no matter how beautiful and wonderful my first step into this city was, the second step was.
Apparently straight into a puddle.
