2014 Nissan Altima A/C Repair Near You
A/C Service for Nissan Altima
There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Your steering wheel feels like lava. Sweat soaks the driver's seat. You take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Who can fix my Nissan Altima A/C?” Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We’ve got experience with Nissan vehicles, and our trained technicians can identify and repair issues with 2014 Nissan A/C systems. Come to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care in your Nissan Altima
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2014 Nissan Altima’s A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A "sniffer" is a machine that's run along parts of your Nissan Altima A/C system that can detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If there's a leak, we'll find it and fix it.
A/C Recharge for Nissan Altima
Let's say we repair your 2014 Nissan Altima A/C system. We will also perform an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Next, they will evacuate the system according to Nissan's recommendations. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and once we’ve done a final test on the system ourselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2014 Nissan Altima A/C recharges.
Other Nissan Altima A/C Problems
Hot air is a common Nissan Altima A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2014 Nissan Altima? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your Altima.
Questions About 2014 Nissan Altima A/C Systems
How can I make my Altima air conditioner colder? For starters, use a sun-blocking shade in the windshield while you’re parked, or look for a shady parking spot. Closing all the passenger vents in your car can help redirect cold air toward you, cooling you off faster. Still need more chill? Head to Firestone Complete Auto Care for an A/C performance check and recharge.
What’s making my Altima A/C put out warm air? An A/C blowing hot air has several possible root causes. There could be an issue with your compressor clutch, a blown fuse, a leak, or a clog in the expansion valve.
What causes A/C system leaks? To put it simply, age and moisture are some of the main causes of leaks in your A/C. Over time, rubber gaskets and seals can wear out, which pushes much-needed refrigerant out of your Altima’s A/C system — and lets outside moisture get in, which can take a toll on internal A/C components.

DOE/SAE Compliance - FMVSS 108
Auto parts manufacturers must adhere to a strict set of guidelines in order to meet the criteria laid out by FMVSS 108. Any lights or reflectors that adorn vehicles traveling on public roads MUST adhere to the regulations; otherwise, the manufacturer is subject to a slew of penalties.
Some of the FMVSS 108 guidelines include:
- Technical specifications (illumination, construction)
- Proper product marking
- Manufacturer registration
While the regulations are designed primarily for manufacturers, consumers must always be sure that any lights that they install on their vehicles also meet these regulations. Citations can be issued for products that do not meet the minimum regulatory requirements.
All of the parts carried on Go-Parts.com are FMVSS 108 compliant, as the designs have endured extensive testing. Our manufacturers only produce replacement lights that meet the highest of industry standards, ensuring on-road safety and reducing the probability of breakdowns in component construction.

Recharge Air Conditioning with Freon in a Nissan Altima

Recharge Air Conditioning with Freon in a Nissan Altima - Test the air conditioning system for leaks. If your Altima is R134 compatible, you can use a leak detection kit from your local automotive store. Some of these kits will seal small leaks.Find the Low Pressure Side service port. You will see a black cap on the line coming out of the compressor. Remove this cap. Look at the connector to determine if your car uses R134 or R12 refrigerant. You will notice screw type connectors on the both the High Pressure Side and Low Pressure Side lines in models using R12 refrigerant. They R134 compatible systems have a quick connect valve on the Low Pressure Side. Models made in or before 1995 may use the old R12 refrigerant. If this is the case, you must have your Altima's air conditioning system retrofitted to use R134 refrigerant.
Check your air conditioning system pressure using an automotive air conditioning pressure gauge. Keep in mind that in order to get an accurate reading, the air conditioner has to be turned on the coldest setting with maximum blowing power.
Attach the refill hose to the connector on the Low Pressure Side of the air conditioning system. Make sure that it is securely attached.
Allow the air conditioner to suck the refrigerant out of the can by slowly turning the valve on the refill kit hose. Pay attention to the way you hold the can. Most kits will have you hold the can upright when you recharge the air conditioning system. It may take as long as 10 minutes to empty a single can.
If all of the air conditioner components are working properly in your Altima, you may need to recharge the system with refrigerant if it is blowing warm air. This is possible if your Altima is R134 compatible. Most models made in 1995 or prior to that use R12 refrigerant, so you would need to retrofit the system before you try to recharge it. - by eHow

Nissan refrigerant and oil capacity charts
NOTE! Refrigerant and oil capacity guides are based on data provided by sources such as AllData and Mitchell. You should always attempt to verify the information with your vehicle manual or information provided on the underhood stick, sometimes also located on the top of the accumulator. The information provided herein is a reference provided to you at no charge.
The information provided is based, in most cases, on the originalOEM specifications. If your vehicle was originally charged with R12 refrigerant, for example, the oil type specified, 'mineral', will not apply.
Additionally, General Motors issues Bulletin # 02-01-39-004B replacing PAG 150 oil with a lower viscocity oil. Thus, TechChoice now indicates PAG 46 (P46D) oil for those vehicles.
