The part( s) or condition( s) listed below for the sign Oven light is out are purchased from more than likely to least most likely to occur. Check or check each thing, beginning with the things on top of the web page.
The Majority Of Frequent Reasons for Stove Light Is Out
Trigger 1 Light Assembly – If the stove light is out, the whole light setting up may require to be changed. Frequently the light assembly elements are not offered independently.
Create 2 Light bulb – To identify if the light bulb has actually burned out, make use of a multimeter to examine it for continuity, or set up the light bulb right into an identical socket to check it.
Create 3 Light Outlet – Make use of a multimeter to check for power to the light socket. If the light socket is obtaining power, but the stove light will not function, this suggests that the light outlet is defective. If the light socket is defective, replace it.
Trigger 4 Light Switch – To establish if the light switch is defective, utilize a multimeter to check it for continuity. If the light button does not have connection, replace it.
Create 5 Touchpad and Control Panel – The touchpad and control board regulate the power supply to all of the oven parts, consisting of the stove light. If the touchpad and also control panel setting up is defective, it won’t signal the stove control panel to turn on the oven light. However, this is seldom the situation. Initially, examination the light bulb and outlet. If the light bulb and outlet are not defective, the touchpad as well as control board assembly could be to blame.
Cause 6 Touchpad – The touchpad has a switch that regulates the stove light. If this switch is defective, the touchpad won’t indicate the oven control panel to switch on the stove light. Nonetheless, this is rarely the situation. First test the light bulb, outlet, as well as button. If none of these elements is defective, the touchpad may be liable.
Cause 7 Transformer – The transformer may be faulty. However, this is rarely the case. First inspect the light bulb, socket, and also light button. If none of these components is defective, the transformer may be at fault. The transformer is not repairable– if the transformer is defective, you need to change it.

How to Repair an Oven Light that Won’t Turn Off
Is your oven light not turning off? We can help.
Here in appliance repair, normally we deal with things that won’t turn on. This is because most appliance systems are designed to fail-safe out when there is a problem in the circuit. Your oven, for example, has several sensors and safety mechanisms in the electrical system and if even one of them fails, the oven won’t heat so that your house doesn’t catch on fire.
However, the oven light is a different story. One little lightbulb inside your oven is not a safety hazard and if this light malfunctions, it’s just as likely to default ‘on’ rather than ‘off’. This can happen for a number of reasons that we are about to cover along with the most likely solutions to each cause. Let’s investigate why your oven light won’t turn off.
Hidden Light Switch Turned On
Solution: Find the Switch & Flip It
Not every oven has the same light switch design. Most ovens have a light switch on the control panel so that you can check on cooking food without releasing heat by opening the door. Some ovens have a door-triggered switch so that the light comes on when the door opens and turns off when the door closes. Some have a hidden switch underneath or even inside the oven, as well.
The hidden switch is one of the leading (and easiest to solve) causes for an oven light staying on. If a pan or rack bumped the secondary switch while moving around food, there’s a good chance that the switch is still on. Check your user’s manual or explore the inside, outside, and underside of the oven to find a flipped-on switch for the light.
Oven Door Not Closing Properly
Solution: Repair Hinges, Posts, or Oven Racks
If you have an oven light that is supposed to trigger when the door opens, your light might be telling you that the oven door is still officially open. This can be caused by a small collection of problems. The first and easiest to check is obstructions. Check the oven racks and any pans you may have left inside the oven to see if there is anything keeping the oven from closing completely. Then check for burnt food debris near the hinges.
From there, check the hinges themselves. Make sure the oven door is level and seems to be mounted securely. If the hinges are loose, align, and then tighten them. If there is damage, or if the oven door hinge-posts are bent, plan for repair or replacement.
Solution: Reset Oven Electrical System
Sometimes, blackouts and power surges can affect appliance behavior. Just as your microwave resets the clock and flashes 00:00 every time the power goes out, you might see other small symptoms in the other household appliances. One such common problem is light bulbs. The oven’s electrical system may have been affected, causing your bulb to never turn off.
The solution is relatively simple if you know-how for your oven model. Look up the reset process to reset the electrical system of your oven. Most ovens with a digital display have this. Find the reset process, often holding two or three buttons for an ascribed number of seconds, and see if your oven light goes back to behaving normally. An electrical reset can solve any minor problems caused by local blackouts and power surges.
Broken or Faulty Door Switch
Solution: Replace the Door Switch
Another common problem relates to the door switch itself. For ovens with the door switch light, you can break down the possibilities. If the oven is closing properly and the electricals have been reset, there’s a good chance that the switch itself is at fault.
When you determine this, the solution is to remove and replace the oven door switch. Look up the brand and model of the oven that you have for a specific guide on which panels to remove to access the door switch. When you access it, unplug the oven and change the switch out for an identical new switch and transfer the oven’s wire clip to the new wire harness. Then close up and try again with the light.
Faulty Wiring or Control Board
Solution: Replace Oven Electrical System
The last thing you might be dealing with is a deeper problem with the oven’s electrical system. If the control board or the wiring itself is faulty, this goes beyond the scope that is usually safe to DIY. The wires and control panel are integral to the oven and you will likely want to work with a certified appliance repair technician to replace the electrical system. Also, when your oven’s primary control system is in need of repair, this is a good time to consider the benefits of a new oven instead.
The other thing to note is that if your control panel or internal wiring are to blame, then your oven light is a very lucky first indicator of trouble to come. A faulty or broken electrical system inside your oven must be fixed at once. This may be the first sign of future maintenance issues that will not be so harmless.
When to Call a Repair Technician
Go through all the previous troubleshooting steps to find out just how deep your oven light problem really is. However, the most important thing is to do this safely. Always unplug the oven before accessing any internal or electrical components. Wear gloves and use the right tools. But even more importantly, call for help when you need it. We know it’s great to fix things on your own but when the problem is profound or you have no training in repairing what you’re looking at, we can help.

Oven light doesn't work
I had a similar issue with my oven. The light on mine is controlled with a door switch, AND with a toggle button on the front panel (the kind that works like a retractable pen). The problem was that after 20+ years, the electrical contacts inside the toggle button's switch would stick on or off, even if the button feels like it is turning on or off. Getting to it requires dismantling half the oven (after removing it from the wall), so I just put up with it.
Unless you have a modern appliance where everything is controlled from a single PCB, it should be dead simple to figure out. One word of warning, though - if your oven is electrical, it's likely connected to a 220V circuit on at least a 30A breaker. Once you pull it out and open the back, be very careful with it. Also be aware that oven wiring (and dishwasher and garbage disposer) is a common area for crappy electricians (and clueless homeowners) to take dangerous shortcuts, so be careful pulling it out - the wiring COULD be held on only by the wiring nuts, with no other stress relief.

2. Twist the baking option knob left to suggest the indicator line around the knob to "Off."
3. Place oven mitts to deal with to safeguard them, and pull lower the oven's door to gain access to the meals within the oven. Slide the oven rack out and thoroughly lift the meals dish from the oven. Put the food on the top from the range's grate and shut the oven door.
4. Unplug the oven's energy cord in the electrical socket and wait a minumum of one minute before
inserting it in again. This really is known as energy cycling, also it removes issues that occur having a persistent blinking light after baking by resetting the oven's controls.

My Thermador Oven is Not Heating
You bought a Thermador oven because you know quality, and expect reliability. We need reliability in our kitchens and in our kitchen appliances if we’re going to get things done in this busy world. But even a Thermador brand appliance can break down from time to time. If you find that your Gas oven is not heating, there are several ways to troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix the problem. With a little patience and handy work, you can fix your oven and get it back to heating again. Read the steps in this guide to find out how or call us at ️(800)657-0765.
Before Getting Started
Remember a few safety tips before getting started: always unplug the appliance before servicing the inside cabinet, always wait until the appliance is cool to service it, wear protective eyewear and clothing when necessary, and don’t be afraid to call in a Thermador oven repairprofessional when needed.
Step 1: Bake Element
A first step to take is to inspect the Thermador’s bake element. When the element is operating properly, it should glow red hot. If the element is not glowing red when you turn the oven on, it is a clear indication that the element is not heating. Elements are usually visually damaged when they burn out: look for darker places on the element, holes, or blisters. If you want to go a step further, use a multimeter to test the element for current. If the element is bad, it will have to be replaced.
Step 2: Broil Element
Second, inspect the Thermador’s broil element. Look for the same signs of damage as above: holes, blisters, or dark spots. Check that the broil element is glowing hot when you activate it on the oven. If it’s not glowing during operation, then the element is not heating. If you have a multimeter, you can check for continuity in the element. If, from any of these inspections, you feel the element has failed, it will need to be replaced according to the owner’s manual specifications.
Step 3: Incoming Power Problem
A third troubleshooting step is to check for incoming power levels. Electric ovens require more power than standard appliances, drawing 240 volts. Gas ovens require 120 volts. It is possible, especially in older homes, that the dedicated outlet for the oven is not providing the proper voltage. The only way to test this problem is by using a multimeter or similar device to check the voltage level at the outlet. Only perform this check if you feel comfortable working with these tools in this situation. If you don’t have the proper current at the outlet, you’ll need to troubleshoot your home’s electrical system to find out why or call us at ️(800)657-0765.
Step 4: Thermal Fuse
Fourth, check your Thermador’s thermal fuse. All modern ovens are equipped with thermal fuses, which stop oven operations if the appliance reaches too great a temperature this is an excellent safety feature, but if something causes the thermal fuse to blow, the oven will not heat up properly. A fuse usually blows only in extreme circumstances, so it’s not the most likely cause of your oven’s lack of heat (which is why we check it fourth). Find your thermal fuse using the Thermador owner’s manual, and inspect it for signs of being blown. A multimeter will be the best way to know for sure. If the fuse has been blown, it has to be replaced with an identical fuse.
Step 5: Bad Wire Connection
The fifth troubleshooting step for a Thermador oven that won’t heat up is to check the wiring of the oven. You should inspect the wires that lead to the elements on your oven, as well the wires that connect with the igniter component. If this requires you to open the cabinet of the oven, you may also want to inspect other connections and wires where you can. Look for signs of burned out wires, arced wires, or places where the oven may have leaked hot fluids or grease onto electrical components. It can be difficult and complicated to replace wires, so it may be time to call in a professional if you’re not comfortable with the layout of the oven’s wiring.
Step 6: Oven Control Board
A final component to inspect is the oven control board. The oven control board is the “brains” of the operation, sending proper voltage to the bake and broil circuits depending on how you set the oven. If the control board is failing, it won’t send the right voltage to the other components in the appliance. Oven control boards are not likely to fail, but it is possible. Be sure to go through all other diagnostic steps above before turning to the board. If everything else seems to be working properly, it may be time to replace your control board. It takes a professional to test an oven control board, so either call in a pro or head to the parts shop.
Step 7: Igniter fault
If you turn the knob, hear the characteristic hiss, press the button and the gas does not light up – it means that the problem with electric ignition of the gas stove Hephaestus, and you can try to fix it yourself.
If you hear characteristic clicks, it means that the system is triggered somewhere, there is no spark only on the burner used. If there are no clicks, it means that the button or block generator of electrical impulses is broken.
Step 8: Temperature sensor wont work properly
The hob or oven lights up as usual by turning and pressing the knob, but goes out as soon as you release the knob. The gas control system automatically shuts off the gas if the burner is out or if the knob is turned but not pressed – to protect against children.
Usually it is enough to keep the knob pressed for 3 – 5 seconds, the manufacturer recommends 10 – 60 seconds for sure. If the burner knob goes out even after one minute, the leak protection system is faulty.
The gas control must only be installed in the oven or on all burners. The head of the thermocouple is located near the burner, it is metallic and rather thin, warming up quickly from the burning gas. The heat from it is transferred via a copper tube to the gas sensor installed in the tap behind the burner handle. As soon as the heat stops flowing, the magnetic valve of the sensor opens to cut off the gas supply.
