So Why Should You Pick The Dark Knight As Your Class In Black Desert?

The Dark Knight or the DK is a powerful melee spellcaster hybrid who uses Swift ashes and Powerful dark magic to overwhelm her foes. She’s very glass cannon, but also very high damage and a large amount of AoE spells. She’s also not reliant on strict flowchart combos. So what this means is while most Dark Knight will play fairly similar styles they can mix up their moves, they can play a little differently and not strictly reliant on a fairly flowchart combo, where you hit something you get a crowd control off and then you enter the next of the combo sets, like the Maehwa for instance.

Pre-awakening the dark knight focuses on her blade. She uses her Kriegsmesser and aa number of powerful dashes to jump in and eliminate her foes. Most of her skills in the pre-awakening form you’ll use uses the F key. So before awakening, remember F as your main key. You’ll start with an airstrike to get into combat then there’s like that you will hold F to strike with an unveiled dagger. After a while, you’ll be higher level, where you’ll start using Wheel of Fortune. Other useful skills are obsidian ashes, corrupt ground, and most R&B mouse button skills before you unlock Wheel of Fortune as you don’t unlock your fortune for quite a while(level 24).

Post-awakening is when the DK gets really fun. You now transform into a caster with flashy, colorful and cool looking spells.

As a dark knight, your dashes are very important. To use your normal dash (smoky haze), press forward(W) and shift and you also got a sideways dash(dusk), which you can use by pressing A or D and then shift. You can also chain dusk so you can use it twice. Dusk is very important because that’s how you’re going to regenerate your mana for the most part.

You want every ability in the awakened tree minus the S+LMB and S+RMB ones. Then you only really want Lunacy/Nocturne and maybe Wheel of Fortune/Airstrike in the unawakened tree. You also want every passive in the unawakened tree at the bottom. We will go further into detail later on in this guide about the skills and abilities.

Priority for now is:

  • Shift Awakened skills + Twilight Dash
  • Passives
  • Other awakened skills (Not the S+LMB/RMB ones)
  • Nocturne/Lunacy/Other good pre awakened skills
  • The Rest

Which Order Should I Upgrade My Gear As a Dark Knight?

  • Your Main-hand to 15.
  • Your Off-hand to 15.
  • Your accessories to the Basic accessories section.
  • Your Armor to 15.
  • Your Awakening to 15.
  • Your Main-hand to DUO.
  • Your Awakening to DUO.
  • Your Off-hand to DUO.
  • Your Armor to DUO.
  • Your Main-hand to TRI.
  • Your Awakening to TRI.
  • Your Offhand to TRI.
  • Start looking for a Kzarka, Dandelion and boss gear.
  • Your accessories to the Advanced accessories section
  • Tet Kzarka, Tet Dandelion.
  • Finishing up accessories. There are many upgrades to push for past this, but after this point, you should have a feel for what to upgrade next.

Dark Knight Combo PvE and PvP Guide

Basic

Intermediate

Advanced

Weapons, Armor, Accessories and Gear Progression

For starters you should go do the questline in order to get the quest gear and random drops. Follow the main storyline. At levels 50 you should be around 94 AP and 120 DP as a goal.

At level 51-56, consider upgrading your weapon to Pri. Also enchance your Oros Ornamental Knot to Pri aswell. Get +15/Pri Hercules helmet, shoes and gloves or the Heve Set, depending on what you prefer. You want a Roaring Magical Armor piece which you get from a quest around lvl 55 (first version of this piece you can upgrade is obtained at level 52, from “Preparing for Mediah” quest) and 3 pieces from these choices:

  • Hercules’ Might – 3 piece set bonus will give you +200LT (recommended for new players since you can grind longer with extra weight)
  • Strength of Heve – 3 pieces set bonus will give you +300 HP
  • Grunil – 3 pieces set bonus will you give you +150HP and +5 AP

At Level 56, Your Gear Should Look Similar To This:

Weapons

For the main hand you can get a Rosar Kriegsmesser. If that is sold out, a Krea Kriegsmesser is two AP less but just as good.

Do not buy a Liverto. This is a noob trap. It has the same repair costs as a Kzarka but with none of the benefits.

For the awakening, you will want a Thorn Tree Vediant.

Do not buy a Light-Swallowing Vediant. This is another noob trap. You can upgrade other things for much cheaper AP vs pouring your silver into a blue grade weapon. If in doubt, always choose the green weapon over the blue. So the 2 options you really only have is the Thorn Tree Vediant, Dandelion or Offin Tett.

I have a Yuria weapon and/or one gem-slot armor (Agerian/Tartias/etc):

The guides or info on the internet suggesting these items are out of date. They are no longer viable because of better stats on newer weapons and/or armor.

I don’t have Hercules’ Might armor — should I switch?

Probably not. The set bonus isn’t super important. If you have any of the 3 armors above there is no reason to switch. In the end, it will be replaced with boss armor.

Off-Hand/Knots

Your first off-hand should be a Oros knot. This is currently the only non-boss AP knot in the game that is viable.

The Nouver knot is the boss version. It provides more AP than the non-boss item and gives you +10% on your resistances.

Other notable knots:

Kutum is a PvE focused off-hand useful for certain end-game grinding.

Saiyer is an accuracy and evasion focused off-hand. Not useful in the current meta except for the occasional evasion player.

At level 56, get the Asula accessories. Enhance your Rosar or Krea to Duo/Tri, Duo/Tri your Thorn Tree Vediant and Duo/Tri your Oros Ornamental Knot. Pri/Duo Your Hercules Set. Subsitute the roaring magical for hercules armor. By completing the Kamasylvia storyline, you’ll get the Grana oath earring and the Anabelief Earring(from kamasylvia 1 and 2). You can get the Ring of Power from Valencia story quest line 1 and Kama 2. To finish, get a TRI Shultz Necklace and a Belt at around level 58.

At Level 58, Your Gear Should Look Similar To This:

Level 59-60

Dark Knight Boss Gear:

  • Main Hand Weapon: Kzarka or Offin Tet
  • Awakening Weapon: Dandelion
  • Offhand: Kutum for PvE, Nouver for PvP
  • Armor: Dim Tree Spirit
  • Gloves: Bheg Gloves
  • Helmet: User’s choice. Some people prefer Giath Helmet. Some people prefer Griffons Helmet. There is no data to suggest one is 100% better over the other. So I would just use whatever you can get your hands on first.
  • Shoes: Urugon’s Shoes have been confirmed by tests to be superior over Muskan’s Shoes. If you have Muskan’s, continue using them until you get Urugon’s

Which Accessories Should I Use

  • The basic accessories
  • Asula’s Necklace [11AP/3DP] – Found at abandoned iron mines
  • Asula’s Belt [6AP] – Found at Elric shrine
  • Asula’s Ring x2 – [7AP/2DP] – Found at helms post
  • Asula’s Earring x2 – [7AP/25HP] – Found at helms post

The advanced accessories

  • TRI Shultz belt – [9AP]
  • TRI Mark of Shadows [11AP] OR DUO Crescent Rings [11AP]
  • TRI Witch Earrings – [11AP] OR DUO Tungrads [11AP]
  • DUO/TRI Seraps Necklace [16/20AP]
  • Finish:
  • TRI Basilisk Belt [14AP]
  • TRI Ogre Ring [25AP]
  • TRI Crescents [14AP]
  • TRI Tungrad Earrings [13AP] OR TET Witch [13AP]

Crystals In Gear For Dark Knight

  • Endgame-oriented gems
  • Helmet: JIN – Harphia [+50 HP, +20 Evasion] or Ancient Magic Crystal – Agility [+20 Evasion]
  • Armor: JIN – Cobelinus [+100HP, +5 DR] or Infinity Evasion [+10% Special Evasion]

  • Offhand: Valtarra Crystal [+150 HP, +5 AP, +3 Kamasylvia damage] Crystal of Infinity – Critical [Additional Critical Hit Damage +1 Level]

Food Buffs For DK

For Leveling Up(PvE):

Simple Cron Meal:  [AP against monsters +13], [Combat EXP +10%], [Skill EXP +5%], [Att/Cast Speed +1], [Movement +2], [Crit Hit +2], [HP +150]

Exquisite Cron Meal: [All AP +8], [All Accuracy +15], [Movement +2], [Crit Hit +2], [All Evasion +15], [HP +150], [All Resistance +4%], [Ignore All Resistance +4%]

For Lifeskilling:

Seafood Cron Meal: [Cook/Alch Time +0.6s], [Life EXP +10%], [Processing Success Rate +10%], [Gathering +2], [Movement +2], [Fishing +2], [Weight +50LT]

Which Stat Should I Prioritize for the DK?

Prioritize Attack Speed and then Critical, since DK’s don’t use casting speed.

Basic Combo For PvE, Post-Awakening(level 56 and up)

Approach a pack

What size is the pack?

big: spirit hunt(W+RMB) into the pack. Twilight Dash(Hold F). If pack is not dead, use Shift E(See) followed by Shift LMB(shattering darkness). Is pack still not dead? Use Spirit legacy(Shift+RMB) until dead.

Small: Spirit hunt(W+RMB) into the pack. Cast Spirit Legacy(Shift+RMB). Is pack not dead? Use Seed(Shift+E), followed by shattering darkness(Shift+LMB). Cast Spirit legacy(Shift+RMB) until the pack is dead.

Skill Build and Skill Add-ons for Dark Knight

Before Level 56

Some skills to consider leveling before awakening to get 56: Kamy Slash, Air Strike, Wheel of Fortune, Corrupt Ground, and the movement skills (Dusk + Smoky Haze). No skill build here since everyone has a different amount of skill points this early on.

DK Addons For PvE

DK Addons For PvP

Dark Knight Skill-Addons PvE and PvP Mixed

If you want something that fits both PvE and PvP, I recommend going this route.

I have no slow on Lunacy or PvP damage increases on other skills as some of you will notice, why?

Because I don’t see slows helping in PvE and PvP damage increases won’t help in PvE at all, meaning I went for some sort of middle ground if possible.

Had I spent my time fully in BDO to PvP, I would go for that 10% attack speed decrease on Lunacy and I would go for PvP damage where I could fit it in, however I don’t spend most of my time on the battlefield hence I won’t have those editions in here and I’m far too cheap and lazy to run back and forth before node wars/duels to change them.

Pre-awakening

Slanted Balance: – Why Slanted? Because it’s a skill you will use, mid combo or to start a combo as you catch someone. Meaning it will land and proc a buff from add-ons, it’s so commonly used that I don’t see any other choice, way easier to apply this add-on than something like Air Strike and Enforcement as it actually needs to hit your enemy in order to trigger.

All Accuracy + 3% for 12 sec – Used for bringing up average damage in PvE and PvP. Especially against evasion builds, every little bit will help.

Attack Speed +7% for 5 sec – Attack Speed is king, in combos or in PvE. Anywhere you can get it means you’ll have a higher success rate of getting off certain skills in rough situations and it helps counteract slows, should you be hit with it.

Wheel of Fortune: – Why? You will throw this skill either mid combo (PvP) or to start one as you bait people in. In PvE it’s also used for DPS meaning it shouldn’t be overlooked. Had Wheel had 100% crit rate, we would be looking at a lot more 2 shots with Wheel + Lunacy.

Critical Hit Rate + 20% for 9 sec. – Wheel of fortune does not have crit itself however it hits like a truck regardless. Anything that will increase that or modif future skills for a small amount of time is helpful. It’ll help your average damage on future skills like: Pervasive Darkness, Enforcement and Slanted Balance as they themselves do not have 100% crit.

Attack Speed +7% for 5 sec – Again, attack Speed is king. Get it and enjoy it. Not it does not stack with Slanted as they are the same “buff” according to the game. However you will not always be using wheel or Slanted in close proximity to one another so 7% will be up for more than just when Slanted lands.

The lunacy of Vedir: – Why? It’s one of our bread and butter skills just like Wheel of Fortune. You will use it. Whether you zone people out with it, you SA trade or your aim is to simply smack someone down with a lazy combo. In PvE, you will also definitely use it to clear packs.

Attack against monsters + 30 for 8 sec – Monster damage is there to bring up your average damage and bring you closer to the one shots for more skills whilst grinding, and if not for one shotting, to make sure that you will have to throw fewer skills on mobs in the long run. For lesser spots it basically means you don’t need to spam Spirit Legacy for the monster damage increase and can save that big dick skill for nuking a pack on its own, whether it’s on Manshaum, Mirumoks, Crescents or Fogans.

Attack Speed 10% for 5 sec – Why I opted for attack speed here is for various uses, whether it’s in node wars where slows hit you quite easily to counteract it or after a combo in skirmishes/duels to just get out should someone survive or if you’re zoning with the skill itself and it hits and procs the attack speed, hell ensues as you have 10% for a few seconds to add more pressure and stack more attack speed. This goes for all add-ons that are NOT the same. Meaning you want to get a different % add-on going to further stack attack speed

Awakening

Shattering Darkness – Why? You will use this whether your enemy is close by, at range or mid combo. And considering your enemy won’t always be blocking, getting the add-ons to trigger is always nice.

Attack Speed +4% for 5 sec – As mentioned above, easily applied in various scenarios and as attack speed is stackable it helps to apply pressure and also counteract slows. I’m just repeating myself at this point….

Inflicts 45 Pain Damage per 3 sec. For 12 sec – As said this skill will be used variously and whether it’s before a close quarter fight or you’re ending a combo with, the damage will start ticking and help deal with your opponent. The damage is not “oh wow” however there will be times where it is just enough. And to be honest, anything that reduces a DP builds healing I like.

Spirit Legacy – Why? You’re gonna be using this skill a lot. Whether you use it to debuff/nuke your enemy in PvP or wish to one shot a pack in PvE or simply debuff it like in Hystria with it’s initial -20 DP on the skill. This skill, will come to use.

Attack against monsters + 25 for 8 sec – As mentioned with lunacy of Vedir it’s to help with average damage and clear speed. One shotting a mob will mean you don’t waste time dealing with it. Monster damage helps with it. However this does NOT stack with Lunacy of Vedir and if you use Lunacy before hand be sure to let Lunacy’s 30 Monster damage run out first as the 25 from Legacy will NOT override the 30 from Luncay. However the 30 from Lunacy will override the 25 from spirit Legacy. Meaning you can throw Lunacy when theres 1-2 seconds left on Legacy’s buff should you so desire.

Attack Speed -4% for 7 sec – To be honest I didn’t fancy the other options, and anything that will mess with potential animation cancels or delay getting grabbed even the slightest is welcome. You will have this go off mid trades or at the end of combos for that hopeful but non-existent down-smash.

Twilight Dash – Probably the most controversial out of them all considering the stamina nerf to the skill. However I opted to not change it as I’m quite fond of still getting the skill to be used in fights and in farming.

Critical Hit Rate +10% for 9 sec – Again this thing about bringing up the average damage. The skill of itself is at 50% crit rate and other skills won’t be landing 100% crits either. This buff will be overwritten by Wheel of Fortunes 20% in the same way Lunacy and Spirit Legacy monster damage interact should they be used within proximity of one another.

Inflicts 60 Burn Damage per 3 sec for 9 sec – Stacks with Shatterings damage over time and considering our longer combo ends with it being there it will help should someone survive your combo or you twilight dash around/through them mid-fight. Hitting Musas and Maewhas especially, however, I left this with the damage over time and not the potential down smash as I want a guaranteed occurrence and not RNG when dealing with something like a Mystic. The fact that they won’t be healing as much is one of the reasons I kept my damage over time.

I hope you enjoyed reading this BDO guide for the Dark Knight, she is a very fun class!

(Some parts of this guide, such as succession skill descriptions are skill under development and will be coming at a later date, you can easily find this information in-game)

Introduction

Remember that class guides are a rough explanation of the class, designed to give you an idea of the class and what you should be aiming for. You should really adapt the guide and follow your own instincts to match your play-style! I also highly recommend looking at as many different sources as possible and gathering as much information as you can about your class before deciding what is best for you and how you play. The class discords are a great place to start, most have their own guides and resources as well as plenty of skilled players willing to help with questions.

The Dark Knight class uses a two-handed Kriegsmesser as their primary weapon and a Ornamental Knot as their secondary weapon (same offhand as Berserker). At level 56, the Dark Knight unlocks their awakening weapon which is a Vediant glove and allows her to use three swords with magic. The Dark Knight class uses melee range to slash at their enemies as well as dark magical mid-ranged spells. She is often compared to the Sorceress class because of her dark magic and playstyle. They have very high mobility and plenty of AoE with fast clear speed, as well as high burst damage once awakened. But they do have low defenses and can be somewhat of a glass cannon. The class relies heavily on on their protected skills (forward guards and Super Armor) and kiting, whilst trading damage at close range.

This class can be good in most 1v1 matchups as long as you aren’t outgeared by your opponent. However, they have very low defenses and if caught with CC they will probably die. Dark Knight is also strong in 5v5s and large scale PvP due to their AoE damage and high burst. The role of a Dark Knight in a Node Wars/Siege is to either sit at the backline or flank the enemy team, focusing on damage and CC. They are also one of the fastest classes to grind with because of their high mobility, and lots of AoE. The class isn’t too hard to pick up and is one of the easier classes to play, but to really excell with the class you will need to put a lot of time into practising your positioning and working around your iframes/super armor/front guards.

Check out the videos below to see some examples of the Dark Knight in action.

Source: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcO-TjLkDNzvYrlPkOHgnfA

PROS

  • Very fast PvE clear speed
  • Lots of AOE
  • Very high mobility
  • High burst damage
  • Protected skills with CC
  • Easy to learn
  • Easy to level

CONS

  • Very squishy class if caught
  • No grab skill

Strong against:

Dark Knights are weaker/average in 1v1 situtations and most match ups of equal gear/skill will be hard.
  • Wizard – Wizard is one of your main targets in most PVP situations. Due to your mobility and range this match up should be quite easy. Don’t go into close range and make use of your mid-range skills to safely deal damage. If you get too close use your iframes and super armor to keep your distance when they teleport into you. Also make sure you look out for them using Protective Area and disengage during this time.
  • Witch – Witch is one of your main targets in most PVP situations. They are considered slightly harder than Wizard because of their range advantage and block, which can make them harder to knock down. They have a long range knock up as well that you need to watch out for. Getting close to a Witch is the best position to be in. You should also try to get behind them and CC them with your awakening skill: Spirit Hunt (W + RMB). Try to remain in Super Armor or Frontal Guard as much as possible because Witch has a lot of CC and if you are caught you will most likely die.

Weak against:

  • Archer
  • Striker/Mystic – Striker and Mystic are your hardest match ups as a DK. They have high Magic Damge Reduction and also Evasion which makes them very hard for you to damage. Even if you are able to knock them down you will find it hard to kill them. They are also harder to kite and have a lot of skills that can keep pressure on you. You want to aim to stay at mid-range to long rage against them at all times unless they are CC’d. Try to kite as much as possible and poke at them over time without getting caught out. It can be hard to pull off though.
  • Maehwa – Maehewa is a hard match up for DK because they have more mobility and also a lot of Super Armor and Frontal Guards in their awakening skills. You want to try and get a Maehwa to engage on you and then CC and burst them down using your awakening skill – Flow: Spirit Blaze (Hotkey) and pre-awakening skill – Wheel of Fortune (Shift + F). Try to avoid using your awakening skill – Shattering Darkness (Shift + LMB) and Flow: Bombardment (LMB/ RMB) because they can easily dash around you and CC you. Using your Super Armor will be a lot more effective in this match up due to Maehwa not having a grab.
  • Musa
  • Berserker – Berserkers can be a tricky match up if you are similar gear because of their survivability. They have skills which heal them and thse skills have Super Armor on them as well so they cannot be interupted. This makes it hard to trade with them and hard to kill.

Succession

Dark Knight Succession can be unlocked after level 56 after speaking to the Black Spirit and completing the Succession quest under the suggestions tab. This will give you a totally seperate skill tree that enhances your main hand skills and only has a few awakening skills. Your awakening weapon still effects your succession damage but is not as much of a priority. You can get away with using a Green/Blue grade TRI Ultimate weapon without losing too much damage. This is because only 30% of your Awakening AP is applied to the damage of Succession skills, as well as the additional item stats, such as Human/Species Damage and Accuracy.

Succession is considered better in 1v1 scenarios because it has a higher damage output and the ability to cancel skills. Awakening skills tend to feel quite slow and clunky in comparision. Succession does have some stamina issues though and in PVE scenarious awakening is better as long as you are at the point where you are oneshotting the mobs. As for largescale PVP, succession has a different playstyle where you can play as more of an assassin than the usual flex/flank roles.

In each section of the guide you can find additional information about succession skills.

Skills

Pre-Awakening skill build – Level 55 (487 skill points): https://bddatabase.net/us/skillcalc/158286/
If you’ve just reached level 50 or you’re still leveling, use this build to put you in the right direction of what skills you should be using. Prioritize the following skills: Wheel of Fortune, Lunacy, Air Strike, Corrupt Ground, Slanted Blance.
Make sure you reset your skills at level 56 though because you will need skill points for your awakening skills and will only really need the support skills from pre-awakening.

Post-Awakening skill build – Level 56 (554 skill points): https://bddatabase.net/us/skillcalc/158284/
Prioritize the following skills: All awakening skills, Wheel of Fortune, Chain Dusk, Smokey Haze.

GENERAL

Kriegsmesser Training
[LMB]

This skill is automatically skilled into when you level up and is your auto attack. It is a low damage skill used for regenerating your mana or gathering up monsters.

Scarring Slash

[LMB] + [A] OR [D]

This skill allows you to strafe to the side whilst auto attacking. It will also spin up to 5 enemies so their back is facing you (not in PvP). It is a low damage skill that I don’t recommend putting points into.

iconSudden Attack
[LMB] after sprinting

This skill can be used after sprinting or while using Smoky Haze, by click [LMB]. On a successful hit it will knockback up to 5 targets. It is a low damage skill that I wouldn’t recommend putting points into.

Vedir’s Dogma

Quick Slot

Vedir’s Dogma is only available in your Quick Slot. It is a buff which will increase the skill effects of Kriegsmesser Training, Scarring Slash and Sudden Attack by 20%. Whilst the buff is active your mana will be drained by -20 every 3 seconds. If used again it will cancel the buff. This skill is something you will probably never use as the skill it effects are low damage and only really useful for regenerating your mana or in combos.

iconDark Shadow

[Q]

This skill is your block. When the block is used, your DP is increased by +12 for 10 seconds. You cannot move whilst blocking, this will cancel the skill. You can also cancel by pressing [Q] again.

iconSplit Second

[LMB] while using Dark Shadow

This skill can be used whilst you are blocking [Q] to hit up to 10 targets and inflict stiffness on them. It deals a low amount of damage but the CC can be very useful in PvP.

iconSpirit Satiation

(HOLD SHIFT) + (HOLD SPACE)

This skill can be channeled to recover your HP by +10 and mana by +30 at rank 1. I wouldnt bother putting extra points into it though.

iconSpirit Combustion

Passive

This skill is your passive and putting points into it will increase your Accuracy and Magic Attack Power. It is important to level up when you have the spare skill points.

iconAwakening: Imperious Vediant
[C]

This skill allows you to swap between your main hand and awakening weapon

iconOverlord
[E]

This skill can be used every 3 minutes to give you a 30 second buff, increasing your Attack Speed by 30%, Movement Speed by +30%, Critical Hit chance by 24% and Accuracy by 15%. You also have super armor when using the skill.

iconHallucination Gap
[Q] > [LMB] while using Dark Shadow

Clearance of Welcome can be used whilst blocking [Q] to sideways slash the enemy, inflicting stiffness and dealing high damage.

MOBILITY

iconEvasion

(HOLD SHIFT) + [A] OR [S] OR [D]

This skill is your roll. You can roll to the sides or backwards. You can also double tap [W] to roll forwards, or double tap in any other direction.

iconDusk

(HOLD SHIFT) + [A] OR [D]

This skill is your sideways dash and consumes stamina instead of mana. The skill has no collision and is also an iframe with a cooldown of 5 seconds. It will recover a small amount of mana and at max rank it can be used twice.

iconSmoky Haze
(HOLD SHIFT) + [W]

This skill is your forwards dash. It is great for engaging as the skill gives you super armor. Using the skill gives you a movement speed buff. It’s important to note that there is collision when using this skill.

iconShadow Bullet
[RMB] + [A] OR [D]

This skill will strafe a short distance to the sides and unleash a projectile which can hit up to 7 targets. The skill does have low damage which is reduced in PvP, but it inflicts stiffness and also reduces the targets movement speed. This is a great crowd control skill, especially for PvP and it is optional whether or not to level it up for the extra damage if you have the skill points. Another important thing to note is that if you put points into Shadow Bullet: Air, you can jump [SPACE] then use the skill, and your character will become invisible whilst moving through the air.

iconNocturne
Quick Slot

This skill can only be used in your Quick slot but can be used in two different ways. Begin by using the skill on your hot bar, this will make your character temporarily vanish, you can then choose to use [W] to teleport behind your enemies back and attack, or [S] to move backwards and block. The skill does have low damage but can hit up to 7 targets, reducing their movement speed, attack speed and casting speed by -10% for 10 seconds. It’s a great skill to use to get behind the enemy and outplay your opponents in PVP. The skill has super armor at the beginning of the skill, then is an iframe when your character disappears, and finally super armor/forward guard depending on which direction you move.

iconTrap of Vedir
[S] + [F]

This skill will make your character jump backwards and unleash a ranged explosion in front of you. It has high damage, stuns the targets and also decreases the enemies evasion by -15% for 10 seconds.

iconShattering Darkness
[SHIFT] + [LMB]

This skill will make your character leap backwards and unleash a high damaging explosion in front of them. The animation is similar to Trap of Vedir but the skills themselves are very different. Instead Shattering Darkness will recover your mana by +10 for each hit, and deal extra magic damage as well as it’s base damage. The skill has a 100% Critical Hit chance and also a forward guard when using the skill.

iconTwilight Dash
[F]

This skill is your forwards dash when in awakening form. It will teleport you forwards then deal damage where you teleport to. The skill will recover your mana by +10 for each successful hit and also increase your movement speed by 10% for 10 seconds. The downside to this skill is that it is completely unprotected and can leave you vulnerable to CC.

iconSpirit Hunt
[W] + [RMB]

Spirit Hunt will charge forwards a short distance and can be used as a gap closer. After the charge you will slash out on either side of you dealing damage to enemies around you and inflicting stiffness. Whilst using Spirit Hunt you also have super armor so it is a great skill for engaging and gap closing.

DAMAGE

iconUnveiled Dagger

[F]

Unveiled Dagger is a stabbing attack which can inflict stiffness if successful. It will give you an Attack Speed +10% buff for 5 seconds as well as apply bleeding damage -30 every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. The Attack speed, Stiffness and Bleeding Damage will not be applied if the skill is used whilst on cooldown, but the skill has a short cooldown of 3 seconds. This skill has no protection however, and I wouldn’t recommend putting skill points into it unless you have all of your core skill already.

iconHidden Strike

[F] after using Unveiled Dagger

This skill is an extension of Unveiled Dagger and can be used after it by pressing [F] again. The skill will stun targets and deal high damage. This skill has no protection however, and I wouldn’t recommend putting skill points into it unless you have all of your core skill already.

icon
Darkness Burst
[RMB]

This skill is a low damage skill that I honestly wouldn’t bother putting any points into it. You may even want to lock the skill to avoid conflicts with your other combos. The skill knocks back targets but only in PVE.

iconAir Strike

[W] + [F]

This skill is one of your more reliable crowd control skills. It has a chance of inflicting floating on the upward slash, and then bound on the downward slash. Whilst moving your character is also invincible. You shouldn’t waste this skill and don’t use it to engage with.

iconLuscious Snare
Quick Slot

This skill is a high damage skill that can hit up to 7 targets. Using the skill will mark the targets with an explosion, after 15 seconds the explosion will detonate and will stun and damage the targets if successful. If you have spare points after completing your core skill build, you can max out this skill as it can be useful in some situations.

iconSlanted Balance
[S] + [LMB]

This skill deals high damage and floats targets on good hits. The skill also has forward guard on it.

Pervasive Darkness
[SPACE] in certain situations

This skill can be used whilst guarding [Q] to spin the enemy so that their back is facing you (not in PvP). It can also be used in other situations and will recover a small amount of mana on hit and decrease the enemies DP by -10 for 10 seconds. Damage is heavily reduced in PvP and if the skill is used whilst on cooldown spin effect, mana recovery and Dp decrease is not effective. The skill has forward guard however and the DP debuff can be very useful in PVP.

iconRavage Rake (Optional)

[LMB] + [RMB]

This skill is an optional PvE skill you can level up if you don’t have your awakening yet. It is a horizontal slash that can hit up to 7 targets and recover mana on each hit. You can also take the Flow version of the skill which changes the skill and can be used by holding [LMB] and [RMB]. It will knock back players (not in PvP) and can hit up to 10 targets. It does have high damage but it’s damage is heavily reduced in PvP.

iconRepeated Annihilation

[SHIFT] + [RMB]

I wouldn’t recommend putting any points into this skill. You may also want to lock this skill to avoid conflicts with your skill combos. It has average damage which is reduced when used on cooldown or in PvP.

iconEnforcement

[RMB] + [S]

This skill inflicts stiffness if successful and can hit up to 10 targets if you level it up fully. The ultimate and flow version also extends the skill and l I would recommend also taking both of these as well in your core skill build. The flow version in particular can be used by holding [RMB] and [S]. If successful and not used on cooldown, it will float the targets and deal extra damage. The skill has no protection and you should use it in the middle of a combo when the target is already CC’d.

iconLunacy of Vedir

Quick Slot

Lunacy of Vedir is your 100% Black Spirit Rage skill. It is a high damage skill with Super Armor which can hit up to 10 targets and also inflict bound if successful. The skill also has 100% critical hit chance and increased damage if used with 100% Black Spirit Rage.

iconKamasylvia Slash (Optional)

[LMB] + [SHIFT]

This skill is a high damage skill that has a short charge and will deal more damage and recover more mana if fully charged. If charged, the attacke range is also increased by 50%. While using the skill you will automatically block with forward guard, and if the hit is successful, a maximum of 10 targets will be knocked down. I would only recommend putting skill points into this skill if you already have your core skill build completed.

iconWheel of Fortune

[F] + [SHIFT]

This skill is a high damage slash that will inflict floating on a maximum of 10 targets (fully leveled) if successful. Whilst the skill animation is in effect, your character will have super armor. The damage is slightly reduced in PvP but it is still a strong skill because of the super armor it gives you.

iconObsidian Ashes

[E] + [SHIFT]

This skill is your 200% Black Spirit Rage skill and will bound up to 7 targets if a hit is successful. The damage is reduced in PvP but it has 100% critical hit chance. Using this skill with your Black Spirit Rage will increase its damage and also give you super armor whilst using it.

iconCorrupt Ground
[Q] + [SHIFT]

This skill stuns up to 7 targets all around you and also recovers quite a lot of mana and health, but I wouldn’t recommend putting skill points into it.

iconSoul Snatch

[SPACE] in certain situations

This skill is a high damage skill that can be used in certain situations to deal additional damage. For example you can use it after Spirit Hunt by simply pressing [SPACE]. Soul Snatch deals high damage, inflicts stiffness if successful and also recovers your mana by +10 for each hit. If used on cooldown, the stiffness and mana regen is not applied.

iconCluster of Despair

(HOLD RMB)

This skill is a mid ranged skill which will cause your character to slowly step forwards and deal high damage in explosions over time. The enemy will have a movement speed reduction of -25% for 10 seconds if hit. This is not applied if the skill is used whilst on cooldown. I would only recommend taking this skill if you have already completed your core skill build.

iconGrip of Grudge
[SHIFT] + [F]

This skill will deal damage to enemies directly in front of you and inflicting stiffness if successful. You will also recover +15 mana for each hit. I would only recommend taking this skill if you have already completed your core skill build.

iconSeed of Catastrophe
[SHIFT] + [E]

This skill is your 200% Black Spirit Rage skill. It will deal damage to enemies directly in front of you and knock them down if successful. The skill has 100% critical hit chance and if used with your black spirit rage, will deal higher damage as well as giving you super armor when using the skill.

iconSpirit Blaze

[S] + [RMB]

This skill slashes twice and knocks down targets after the second slash if it hits. The skill has both sword damage and magic damage, as well as a 100% Critical Hit change. Damage is heavily reduced and knock down is not applied if the skill is used whilst on cooldown, but it has a short cooldown of 7 seconds (5 sec at max rank – level 59).

iconSpirit Legacy

[SHIFT] + [LMB]

This skill is your 100% Black Spirit Rage skill. It will deal damage to enemies in front of you and has a 100% Critical Hit chance. If it successfully hits it’s targets, you will have mana regen +10 on each hit, the enemies DP will be reduced by -20 for 10 seconds, as well as them being stunned. If the skill is used on cooldown the stun effect will not be applied and damage will be reduced. The skill also has forward guard when using the skill, but this is also not applied if used on cooldown.

iconTouch of Exploitation
[S] + [LMB]

This skill deals 4 strikes at enemies immediately in front of you. The skill will recover your health for each successful hit and will also knock down the targets.. Using this skill whilst it is on cooldown will reduce it’s damage and the knock down effect will not be applied.

iconFlow: Root of Catastrophe
[LMB] after Seed of Catastrophe

Flow: Root of Catastrophe can be used after Seed of Catastrophe by pressing [LMB]. It has a 100% Critical Hit chance. It’s important to note that there is no collision when moving backwards.

iconFlow: Spirit Blaze
[RMB] after Spirit Blaze

This skill can be used after Spirit Blaze by pressing [RMB]. It will deal an additional slash that has 100% Critical Hit chance and will also knock down the enemy if successful. I would only recommend taking this skill if you have already completed your core skill build.

iconFlow: Bombardment
[LMB] after Scattering the Darkness

This skill can be used after Shattering Darkness by pressing [LMB] to leap again and deal an additional high damage explosion. It has a 100% Critical Hit chance and deals both sword damage and magic damage as well as giving you forward guard whilst using the skill.

Absolute Skills

Below are the recommended Absolute Skills you should take:

Absolute: Lunacy of Vedir – Requires level 59 (35 Skill Points)
Absolute: Slanted Balance –Requires level 56 (30 Skill Points)
Absolute: Wheel of Fortune – Requires level 60 (54 Skill Points)

Absolute: Lunacy of Vedir, Absolute: Alanted Balance and Absolute: Wheel of Fortune are highly recommended skills for Dark Knight. Lunacy of Vedir is the best absolute skill that Dark Knight has. It deals high damage and takes away a huge chunk of health if you have someone knocked down. Absolute: Slanted Balance is a good skill that does decent damage in both PVE and PVP. The skill also has a Frontal Guard, making it more viable in PVP. While Wheel of Fortune gets a decent damage increase and the skill also has super armor.
You should prioritize taking Wheel of Fortune, Lunacy of Vedir and Slanted Balance (in that order) before anything else.

Absolute: Air Strike
Requires level 56 (27 Skill Points)
Absolute: Pervasive Darkness – Requires level 57 (32 Skill Points)
Absolute: Nocturne – Requires level 58 (45 Skill Points)

Optional Absolute Skills:

iconAbsolute: Obsidian Ashes – Requires level 58 (30 Skill Points)
Absolute: Kamasylvia Slash – Requires level 60 (40 Skill Points)
Absolute: Hidden Strike – Requires level 56 (18 Skill Points)
Absolute: Unveiled Dagger – Requires level 56 (27 Skill Points)

These Absolute Skills are more optional and totally depends on preference. Absolute: Obsidian Ashes may be worth taking if you have extra SP because of the rabam skill, but that also depends on which rabam skill you decided to take. Absolute: Kamaslyvia Slash, Absolute Hidden Strike and Absolute: Unveiled Dagger are all optional as well. The skills have decent damage but are more filler skills that you don’t need to take straight away, especially if you are lacking in skill points.

Rabam Skills

Level 56
Shadow Strike – Requires [Luncay of Vedir] and [Shadow Bullet II] (Prefered Choice)
Wrath of Vedir – Requires [Luncay of Vedir] and [Corrupt Ground V]

I would recommend trying out both of these skills and testing which you prefer. Shadow Strike is a quick skill with ranged DPS and also has the edge over Wrath of Vedir due to it being cancellable.

Level 57
Obsidian Blaze – Requires [Wheel of Fortune V] and [Obsidian Ashes V] (Prefered Choice)
Unveiled Fate Requires [Wheel of Fortune V] and [Unveiled Dagger III]

Both of these skills are quite lackluster and not really worth taking if you are lacking skill points. Obsidian Blaze is a slightly better choice out of the two skills though, because of it’s super armor. Unveiled Fate can leave you vulnerable and it’s much safer and faster to just use the combo: Unveiled Dagger into Wheel of Fortune. I would only recommend putting skills into Obsidian Ashes when you have at least 1500+ skill points because there are far more important skills to learn first.

Skill Add-ons

Below are some examples of viable skill add-ons you can take. I recommend experimenting with your add-ons and figuring out what is best for you, because it really depends on your personal preference and how you play your class. If you’re simply not sure what to take then you can blindly follow the examples below and they will still be effective.

PVP Skill Add-ons [Awakening]

icon
[Level 50] Slanted Balance

Attack Speed -7% for 7 sec. for target
All Accuracy +3% for 12 sec. for self

icon
[Level 52] Wheel of Fortune

PVP Attack +15 for 5 sec. for self
Critical Hit Rate +20% for 9 sec. for self

icon
[Level 54] Lunacy of Vedir

PVP Attack +15 for 5 sec. for self

icon
[Level 56] Shattering Darkness

Attack Speed +4% for 5 sec. for self
Inflicts 45 Pain Damage per 4 sec. for 12 sec. for target

icon
[Level 58] Spirit Hunt

All Accuracy +3% for 12 sec. for self
Inflicts 59 Bleeding Damge per 3 sec. for 15 sec. for target

icon
[Level 60] Seed of Catastrophe

Inflicts 40 Poison Damage per 3 sec. for 18 sec. for target
Attack Speed -4% for 7 sec. for target

Weapons/Armor

The best weapons in the game are currently dropped from World Bosses.
For more information on this click here to view our World Bosses guide.

Primary Weapons:

iconRosar Kriegsmesser
The Rosar Kriegsmesser is what you should be aiming for to level your character. You should enhance it to at least +7 for leveling and then PRI or higher as soon as possible if you don’t have Liverto/Kzarka. Aim to buy a +15 Rosar Kriegsmesser if you can to save your enhancing resources. Ideally you will want to buy or make it ultimate (yellow) to close the AP difference as well. Make sure you also make use of the gem slots to get your Attack Speed and Critical Hit up to 5.

Another alternative is the Yuria Kriegsmesser which is similar to the Rosar. Or you can use a Styd Kriegsmesser for leveling if you are having trouble obtaining a Rosar. This weapon can be bought from a Blacksmith and will give you 18 – 22 AP as well as a lot of accuracy.

iconLiverto Kriegsmesser
You can skip Liverto and go straight from Rosar to Kzarka if you don’t have much silver or you are lucky with obtaining Kzarka. If you have enough silver and decide to invest in Liverto, aim to buy it at +15 or higher to save enhancing materials. You will want to upgrade it to PRI or higher as soon as possible. I would recommend getting it to TRI at most and then you really want to switch to Kzarka. The liverto has slightly more AP than Rosar, but it also has a Critical Hit Rate +3 item effect.

iconKzarka Kriegsmesser
Kzarka is the main weapon you will be using. It has the same AP as Liverto but more accuracy and an Attack Speed +3 item effect.
iconOffin Tett’s Radiant Kriegsmesser
Offin Tett weapons are usually not worth investing in because of the loss in accuracy. It can help you push to the next AP bracket but at higher AP brackets the extra AP you get is smaller and you’ll be losing hit chance % at the same time on both your preawakening and your awakening. So really you’re actually losing damage overall since you won’t be hitting the enemy as much (unless they are full DR). Offin Tett can be good when you reach certain AP brackets and if your class doesn’t depend on accuracy as much as others, but if you’re unsure whether you should be using this weapon or not, it’s much safer to just use Kzarka.

iconBlackstar Kriegsmesser

Blackstar is considered the current best in slot mainhand weapon with higher base AP than Kzarka. It must be crafted using items in Star’s End and then following a questline. The weapon is also harder to enhance so most players only switch to Blackstar once they already have TET Kzaraka and very high AP with no easier upgrades. It has a Damage to All Species +10 and Attack Speed +3 item effect, as well as other bonuses when enhanced. The weapon cannot be enhanced with Caphras stones though. Blackstar is considered best for PVE at endgame but eventually a PEN Kzarka will outscale.

Offhand Weapons:

icon Saiyer Ornamental Knot
Saiyer Ornamental Knot is your accuracy offhand and also has a bit of evasion. It is the best offhand to go with for beginners and is also worth keeping because it is very effective against high evasion enemies/classes. You should aim to get this weapon to +15 as soon as possible, but make sure to prioritize your main hand and awakening weapon first. You can also ulimate the Saiyer Ornamental Knot for a small accuracy increase and special attack extra damage +1 level effect. The only downside to this offhand is that it only has 1 crystal slot.

iconKutum Ornamental Knot
This offhand gives a mixture of AP and DP with added monster damage and accuracy. The Kutum weapons also have a 10% ignore resistance. The higher AP makes this weapon a best in slot for PVE and is also good for PVP in late game. When you are 261 (using Nouver) it is actually better to use Nouver in PVE as well because of the bonus AP given in the AP brackets. Once you reach over 261 AP (with Kutum) it is better to switch back to Kutum for PVE. More information about AP and DP brackers can be found here

It also has 2 crystal slots. The Kutum dagger can also be modified using an Inverted Hearth of Garmoth to give extra stats (Max HP +150, Max Stamina +100, Special Attack Evasion Rate +10%).

iconNouver Ornamental Knot
Nouver is currently considered the best in slot choice for PVP until you reach very high AP brackets. You should aim to have TRI gear before switching to this offhand. The offhand gives pure AP and an all resistance +10% item effect and can be modified using an Inverted Hearth of Garmoth to give extra stats (Max HP +150, Max Stamina +100, Special Attack Evasion Rate +10%).

When you are 261 (using Nouver) it is actually better to use Nouver in PVE as well because of the bonus AP given in the AP brackets. Once you reach over 261 AP (with Kutum) it is better to switch back to Kutum for PVE. More information about AP and DP brackers can be found here

Awakening Weapons:

icon Thorn Tree Vediant
This is a green grade weapon which is sold by some Blacksmith/Arms dealers. You will also receive a +10 Thorn Tree Vediant when you complete your awakening quests. This weapon has lower AP than the other options but it is still viable for PvE due to it’s Damage Against Every Species +5 item effect. It’s also much cheaper to enhance and repair max durability than the other options so if you don’t have a lot of money or participate in a lot of PvP, then this weapon is a good alternative until you get Dandelion.

iconLight-Swallowing Vediant
Light-Swallowing Vediant is a blue grade weapon which is given to you when you complete the awakening quests. The only ways to obtain this weapon is through the quest or night vendor. This makes is hard to obtain and it can be more expensive to repair. The Vediant is good for PvP and has higher AP than the Thorn Tree Vediant. It also has a Damage Against Human +7 item effect which is good for PVP.

icon Dragon Slayer Vediant
Dragon Slayer weapons are very comparable to the Dandelion weapons with their stats. They have slightly less AP but are much cheaper to repair and much less hassle. However, the Dragon Slayer weapons cannot be placed on the marketplace and must be crafted by the player themselves.

icon Dandelion Vediant
Dandelion weapons are the BiS awakening weapons. It has much higher AP but it is only obtainable from a Dandelion Weapon Box (Karanda world boss loot) or from the night vendor.

Armor:

The best armor in the game is currently dropped from Bosses. You will want to aim to get the boots and gloves first.

iconGriffon’s Helmet (helmet)– dropped from Griffons in Kamaslyvia.
iconDim Tree Spirit’s Armor (chest)– dropped from Dim Tree Spirit.
iconBheg’s Gloves (gloves) dropped from Bheg.
icon Urugon’s Shoes (shoes) – dropped from Urugon (Gaifinrasia Raid Captain Scroll).

iconGiath’s Helmet (helmet)alternative choice– dropped from Giath.
iconMuskan’s Shoes (shoes)alternative choice– dropped from Monastery Leader.

The best in slot armor is Griffon’s Helmet, Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor, Bheg’s Gloves and Urugon’s Shoes.

The full set will give you Maximum MP/WP/SP +100, Maximum HP +200, Max Stamina +200, Attack Speed +1, Casting Speed +1, Movement Speed +1 and All Resistances 5%. You will also get higher Accuracy, Evasion and Damage Reduction from these pieces.

In the mean time you should be using one of the following armor sets:

A popular armor choice for Mystic is to go full Grunil set because it increases your maximum HP and will give you 2 socket slots on each piece, along with extra AP +7 set bonus. Another advantage of using this set is that it is viable on any class, allowing you to swap to another class easily.

Full Heve set is also a very popular choice and what I recommend for new players because it has an easier transition to boss gear whilst. As soon as you get one boss item with Grunil, you lose the set bonuses which Grunil weaker.

Another alternative is to use is the Akum set. It has comparable stats to boss armor and also a very useful set effect that gives Damage Reduction and Hidden AP. If you are unable to get boss armor, then the Akum set is a good cheap alternative that will be good for both PVP and PV. Investing in this set may slow you down in your progression towards softcap, but is much cheaper once you factor in repairing and enhancing.

Accessories

There are a lot of choices available when it comes to accessories and it really depends on what you can get your hands on.

Earrings:

If available I recommend using the Asula’s Crimon Eye Earrings (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 7 AP and also has very good set bonuses. Otherwise use Bares earrings for 2 AP and switch to Witch’s Earring as soon as possible for the 5 AP.

You want to aim for DUO/TRI Witch’s Earrings (9 AP/11 AP) before swapping to a DUO Tungrad Earrings (11 AP) because of the huge difference in cost. Tungrad Earrings are one of the best earrings you can get. The other alternative is Black Distortion Earrings which give the highest amount of AP (21 AP at PEN), but reduce your DP as well.

The Capotia Earring is also worth mentioning. It is available at level 62+ only but is a very good earring because of it’s high AP. It makes a perfect backup for enhancing and is essentially a free TRI Tungrad Earring.

Rings:
If available I recommend using the Asula’s Crimon Eye Ring (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 7 AP and 2 DP as well as damage reduction and strong set bonuses. Otherwise use Bares rings for 2 AP and switch to Mark of Shadow as soon as possible for the 5 AP.

Sahazad’s Ring of Monarch is also available through the Valencia part I and II quests. It can’t be enhanced but it is a good alternative until you can get Ring of Crescent Guardian or Mark of Shadow to PRI/DUO.

The current best in slot, is a Tungrad Ring.

The Capotia Ring is also worth mentioning. It is available at level 61+ only but is a very good ring because of it’s high AP. It makes a perfect backup for enhancing and is essentially a free TRI Ring of Crescent Guardian.

Necklace:

If available I recommend using the Asula’s Crimon Eye Necklace (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 11 AP and 3 DP as well as damage reduction and an amazing set bonus. Otherwise use Bares Necklace for 4 AP and enhance this to DUO/TRI for 8 AP/10 AP. Enhancing a Bares Necklace is much cheaper than using an un-enhanced BiS necklace. You then want to swap to a DUO Serap’s or PRI Ogre/Tungrad.

The Manos Necklaces are also an alternative for PvP, if you don’t have a DUO Seraps already, due to their item effects. I personally wouldn’t bother with them though because you will want as much AP as possible.

Belt:

If available I recommend using the Asula’s Crimon Eye Belt (Asula Set) if you are new to the game, this gives you 6 AP and has amazing set bonuses. Otherwise use Bares Belt for 2 AP and swap to Tree Spirit Belt as soon as possible for more AP and high accuracy.

You want to aim for a PRI/DUO Tree Spirit Belt before swapping to DUO Basilisk’s because it is much cheaper and easier to get hold of. Basilisk’s Belt and Valtarra are very good belts but Tungrade is currently the best in slot.

Example Gear Builds

I highly recommend using BDOPLANNER.COM to help you plan your build and track your progression.

Below are some example builds to help you when gearing up and understand what to aim for. Click images to enlarge.

Leveling build – [LINK]
Here is what to aim for when leveling and before you get your boss gear. You should focus on enhancing your weapons first and then your armor. Try to also ultimate all your pieces as soon as possible, especially your armor because it will give quite a big DP boost.

Low-Tier build – [LINK]
Here is a low-tier build to use if you are looking to improve your gear before you get boss gear. You may want to use Red Coral Earrings or Witch’s Earrings instead of Asula Earrings but they can be quite expensive compared to the rest of the gear.

Mid-Tier build – [LINK]
Here is a mid-tier build to use once you have boss gear. You want to aim to get TRI as soon as possible and then work on your accessories. If possible use a TRI Red Coral Earring so that you have a minimum of 300 accuracy when using Nouver.

Softcap build – [LINK]
Here is what toaim for if you are going for. It takes a long time to get to this stage, and there are lots of small improvements and other accessories you will use along the way, but this is ideally your softcap build for PVP.

For PVE, you want to be using a Kutum with Corrupted Magic Crystals. Once you reach 261 AP with Nouver, you will want to stop using Kutum for PVE however, until you reach 265 AP with Kutum. After many tests, it is confirmed that Nouver performs better than Kutum in these brackets. More information about AP and DP brackers can be found here

You may also want to consider starting to put Caphras stones into your gear for bonus stats to help you get to the next AP bracket. Begin by getting level 4 in your main hand for the extra 4 AP. Then you will want to move on to putting level 2 into each armor piece before getting them all up to level 4 as well.

End-game build – [LINK]
Here is what to eventuallyaim for. It takes a long time to get to this stage, and there are lots of small improvements and other accessories you will use along the way, but this is ideally your end game build for PVP. Make sure to put Caphras stones into your equipment for extra stats. You can also swap out both of the Black Magic Crystal – Precision for Crystal of Elkarr (best in slot) instead but these are very costly and harder to obtain.

For PVP, it really depends. If you are only doing tier 1 node wars for example, then it is better to stick with Kutum because the node is AP capped anyway and the extra DP can push you to a higher DP bracket.

Consumables

When grinding, use EXP Elixirs and Milk Tea, then other food of your choice such as Margoria Seafood and Serendia Special. It really depends on your preference.

For your food rotation in node wars/siege, I would recommend using Knight Combat Rations, Kamaslyvia Special, Valencia Special and then King of Jungle Hamburger in that order.

The recipes for these are:

ICONRESULTINGREDIENTSUSE
Knight Combat RationsDark Pudding x1, Ham Sandwich x1, Fruit Wine x1, Meat Croquette x1All Attack +5, Damage against human race +5, All Damage Reduction +5 for 120 minutes
iconSpecial Kamasylvia MealRainbow Button Mushroom Sandwich x1, Coconut Pasta x1, Fig Pie x1 , Fruit Wine x2, Rainbow Button Mushroom Cheese Melt x1Max HP +150, Max Stamina 200, Back Attack Damage +5% for 110 minutes
Special Valencia MealTeff Sandwich x1, King of Jungle Hamburger x1, Couscous x1, Fig Pie x2, Date Palm Wine x2Nullifying all Resistances +4%, Resistance against all Debuffs +4%, All Evasion +10, Decrease of damages from Monsters -6% for 110 minutes
iconKing of Jungle HamburgerTeff Bread x4, Pickled Vegetables x2, Lion Meat x4, Nutmeg x3Ignores All Resistance +3%, Critical Hit Damage +5% for 110 minutes

If you don’t have 5 Critical Hit Rate then you may want to swap Margoria Seafood for the Kamaslyvia Meal because it’s very important to have 5 Critical Hit Rate. Make sure you use Margoria Seafood last because it has the smallest duration and you want to keep all your buffs up as long as possible.

The recipe for Margoria Seafood Meal is:

ICONRESULTINGREDIENTSUSE

icon
Margoria Seafood MealPrawn salad x1, Steamed Prawn x1, Stir-Fried Oyster x1, Butter-Roasted Lobster x1, Fruit Wine x2
Weight limit +50LT, Movement speed +2, Critical Hit Rate +2, Max HP +100 for 90 minutes

For your elixir, you will want to use the Cron Draught, Giant’s Draught. To create this, press “L” then select “Simple Alchemy” and add the ingredients listed below. You do not need any alchemy/processing profession level to craft these.

Cron Draughts will replace any elixir buffs you have used and cannot be stacked with other elixirs (excluding Perfume of Courage, Perfume of Swiftness, Elixir of Deep Sea, Khalk’s Elixir, Spirit Perfume Elixir, Whale Tendon Elixir or Tough Whale Tendon Elixir).

If you consume a Draught Elixir whilst another one has already been used, it will replace the first Draught Elixir. Cron meals and Cron Draughts (elixirs/alchemy) can be used together.

Also, when crafting Cron Draughts, you can substitute ingredients with higher grade ingredients. For example: instead of using Elixir of Shock x3, you can use Elixir of Strong Shock x1.

ICONRESULTINGREDIENTSUSE

icon
Giant’s DraughtElixir of Fury x3,
Elixir of Shock x3,
Elixir of Penetration x3,
Tears of the Falling Moon x1
All AP +10,
Max HP +150,
All Special Attack Extra Damage +10% ,
Movement Speed +3,
Critical Hit +3,
Max Stamina +200
Duration: 15 minutes

Black Desert Online: 10 Best Skills Of The Dark Knight Class

Black Desert Online is one of the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing games out there at the moment. It features many different classes for players to choose from (that just keep on coming) and each differs vastly from the others.

RELATED: Black Desert Online: 10 Things New Players Need To Know

The Dark Knight is a part of one of the main factions: Vedir. Its members call themselves the children of Sylvia, the goddess that created them. They follow the moon and therefore oppose the sun and its followers: the Ganelle.

Dark Knights fight with the Kriegsmesser, a ludicrously large knife, and magic. On the battlefield, they switch between stabbing and slashing with the Kriegsmesser up close and using magical spells from a distance.

Regarding playstyle, Dark Knights combine ranged and melee. They are constantly moving and dish out attacks incredibly quickly. Not only does the Dark Knight shine in PvE, but this class also shines in PvP too. When it comes to crowd control and big damage, the Dark Knight stands above the rest.

10 Dusk

The Dusk skill is a basic mobility skill that Dark Knights benefit from greatly. It allows them to dash sideways, using some stamina. Actually, Dusk even recovers a little bit of mana instead of using any.

Also, when using Dusk, the player gets an invincibility frame of about five seconds. When at max rank, Dusk can be used twice in a row. (No collision with Dusk too!)

9 Smoky Haze

Like Dusk, Smoky Haze is another basic mobility skill. Except, using Smoky Haze, Dark Knights will dash forward instead of sideways. The cool thing about Smoky Haze is that the player gets Super Armor while dashing, and a slight boost in movement speed. However, Dark Knights will experienced collision with objects when using Smoky Haze.

8 Unveiled Dagger

One of the basic attacking skills for the Dark Knight is Unveiled Dagger. The Dark Knight stabs the target to inflict Stiffness and apply Bleeding. It grants a small Attack Speed buff too.

RELATED: Black Desert Online: The Best PvP Classes, Ranked

As long as Unveiled Dagger is used when off the cooldown of about three seconds, Dark Knights will be able to keep up their offensive prowess. The efficiency of Unveiled Dagger comes from its ability to start combos or chain them together with other attacking skills.

7 Air Strike

The Air Strike skill is an attack. It is fantastic when it comes to crowd control for the Dark Knight. There are a couple of parts to it too: an upward slash that may inflict Floating and a downward slash that may inflict Bound. Moreover, the player has invincibility frames while Air Strike is active.

6 Slanted Balance

There is of course a need for big damage in the Dark Knight's arsenal, and Slanted Damage is it. Plus, it will inflicting Floating and has a Forward Guard attached to it. Dark Knights will use Slanted Damage to start a combo or mid-combo, making contact with targets with ease.

5 Lunacy Of Vedir

The Lunacy of Vedir skill is for the Dark Knight's 100 percent Black Spirit Rage. Not only does it have a 100 percent chance to deal a Critical Hit with each slash, but it also gets increased damage when used with 100 percent Black Spirit Rage.

On top of the big damage, Lunacy of Vedir enjoys Super Armor while active. It hits a maximum of 10 targets and inflicts Bound, to boot.

4 Wheel Of Fortune

Lunacy of Vedir has a sibling skill, and that is Wheel of Fortune. Like Lunacy of Vedir, Wheel of Fortune allows the Dark Night to deal big damage. It will hit a maximum of 10 targets at max rank and inflict Floating on each and every one of them.

RELATED: Black Desert Online: Everything You Need To Know About Nodes

Wheel of Fortune has Super Armor too. It is useful when starting combos or in the middle of a combo, and compliments Lunacy of Vedir on the battlefield.

3 Shattering Darkness

One of the flashiest skills the Dark Knight has is Shattering Darkness. Using it, the Dark Knight will jump backward and create an explosion in front of them.

On top of big damage, the player will recover mana for each hit landed on opponents as well as deal additional Magic Damage. It does not stop there too, Shattering Darkness enjoys a 100 percent Critical Hit chance and Forward Guard (while active).

2 Spirit Legacy

Another 100 percent Black Spirit Rage skill is Spirit Legacy. At its core, Spirit Legacy has a 100 percent Critical Hit chance and damages enemies right in front of the player.

Dark Knights like this skill because Spirit Legacy regenerates mana for each hit in addition to stunning the enemies. Also, it has Forward Guard. Spirit Legacy is best used with 100 percent Black Spirit Rage of course but does still work without.

1 Corrupt Ground

Corrupt Ground is a skill that stuns up to seven targets all around the Dark Knight. Additionally, it recovers mana and health points. Like, a lot of mana and health points.

So, players will be using this constantly when connecting attacks or if mana and health are running low. The good thing about Corrupt Ground is how often it can be used, especially in a bind.
