Emergency alerts

  1. From any home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > Sound > Emergency broadcasts.
  3. Check the alerts you want to receive. Presidential alerts cannot be disabled.

 

Incoming email

  1. From any home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > Sound > Default notification ringtone.
  3. Tap desired sound, then tap OK.

 

Ringtones

 

Ringtone for all calls

  1. From any home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings > Sound & notification > Phone ringtone.
  3. Tap desired ringtone, then tap OK.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

 

  1. From any home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Choose the desired contact.
  4. Tap Edit contact > Default ringtone.
  5. Tap desired ringtone, then tap OK.

Notifications

To change the notification sounds, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, select Main Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Profiles.
  4. Scroll to the desired profile. Do not select the profile.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Select Message tone.
    • Note: Some profiles do not support message tones so this menu option will not be available.
  7. Scroll to and select the desired sound.
  8. Select >Back.
  9. If necessary, select the profile to enable the just-changed tone.

Ringtones

To change the ringtone, follow these steps:

Ringtone for all calls

  1. From the Home screen, select Main Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Profiles
  4. Scroll to the desired profile. Do not select the profile.
  5. Select Edit
  6. Select Voice call ringtone.
    • Note: Some profiles do not support a voice call ringtone so this menu option will not be available.
  7. Scroll to and select the desired ringtone.
  8. Back.
  9. If necessary, select the profile to enable the just-changed ringtone.

Ringtone for calls from one contact

  1. From the Home screen, select Contacts.
  2. Scroll to the desired contact and select View.
  3. Select Options.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Scroll down to Ringtone and select Set.
  6. Scroll to and select the desired ringtone.

 

Transfer

Transfer music or sounds to use

Some devices require you to transfer music, sounds, or other audio files to the device in a certain way for it to be used for ringtones and notifications. To transfer these files, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable.
  2. On the computer when the Removable Disk window appears, click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.
    Note: If the Removable Disk window does not appear automatically, check that the USB cable is completely plugged in, or try another USB port.
  3. Click OK.
  4. In the Windows Explorer window that opens, double-click the Media folder.
  5. Double-click one of the following folders:
    Note: If the folder that you want is not there, then right-click in the Media folder. Click New, Folder. Enter the name of the desired folder above. Double-click the folder you just created.
    • Ringtones
    • Alarms
    • Audio/Notifications (Go under the Audio folder and then the Notifications folder)
  6. Copy the music or sound files from your computer to the desired folder.
  7. When you are done copying, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray.
  8. Click Safely Remove Mass Storage Device.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Disconnect the device from the computer.
