Welcome to Severn Lodge
Muskoka Ontario&#;s Premier Family Resort

Severn Lodge is one of Ontario Canada’s premier lakeside resorts in the heart of the world famous Muskoka Georgian Bay lake district. For over years the magnificent beauty and serenity of our idyllic Muskoka lake country has attracted vacationers seeking refuge from their daily routine. Here, the air is clean, the water is crystal clear, the stars are bright, and the sunsets spectacular!

The resort is approximately km (90 miles) north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a short 90 minute drive. It is one of the few remaining traditional historic Muskoka resorts, and has been attracting discriminating leisure and business travelers from around the world for nearly a century. It is also one of the classic Muskoka family resorts in a long history of traditional family operated Ontario resorts.

The Lodge is located in the southern part of the Muskoka Lake District near Georgian Bay and the hamlet of Port Severn, and encompasses over acres of property with meters ( feet) of pristine waterfront. It is situated in a quiet sheltered bay on the northern shores of Gloucester Pool, the western most lake of Ontario’s historic Trent Severn Waterway, and overlooks a spectacular array of picturesque pine clad islands. The view is simply breathtaking, and it is difficult to believe that the resort is just a short distance from the greater Toronto area.

Through the years, Severn Lodge has been featured in many publications including Best Family Resorts in North America, What To Do With the Kids This Summer, MacLeans Magazine, Canadian Living Magazine, Toronto Sun and Toronto Star newspapers, various international tour publications that feature Ontario resorts, and various other Ontario resort magazines & websites.

Historic Muskoka Resort

The Main Lodge was originally built in the mid ’s when it served as area headquarters for the Georgian Bay Lumber Company.  Ontario was logged over a 30 year period beginning in the ’s, and after the logging era ended, the property was sold to a wealthy social club from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that used it as a family vacation retreat.  In the early ’s a group of investors purchased the resort and opened it to the public under the name of Severn Lodge.   To fulfill demand for the increasing number of tourists coming to Muskoka in the late ’s and early ’s, a number of Ontario resorts were built. Severn Lodge helped fill that demand, and continues to this day catering to family vacations, romantic getaways, meetings & conferences, weddings and more.

Ontario All Inclusive Vacation Packages

What is an all-inclusive resort?

Ontario all-inclusive resorts provide you more for your money and reduce your planning stress. While their exact offerings will vary, you can usually expect meals and drinks to be included with your room rate, often with unlimited options. That’s what we call a relaxing vacation!

Many resorts also include activities, plus evening entertainment options such as live shows or theme parties. Tips and gratuities are usually included too (though still welcome).

Does all-inclusive include alcohol?

Most all-inclusive resorts in Ontario will include alcohol in their all-inclusive rates. However, they may charge extra for things like premium or imported spirits. Always check the details of your resort before booking, as there are some that do not include alcoholic beverages.

Does “all-inclusive” include flights to Ontario?

All-inclusive resort rates typically do not include flights. Your room rate includes only what you need once you’ve landed, like food, drinks, and entertainment. That’s where Travelocity’s all-inclusive packages come in. You can bundle your all-inclusive accommodation and your flight to Ontario to get you the best rate—and peace of mind knowing everything is taken care of.

Are all-inclusive trips to Ontario worth it?

All-inclusive vacations to Ontario are well worth the up-front cost. Once you’ve booked your Ontario resort, you don’t have to think about the word “budget” again. Everything you need is nearby, from delicious restaurants to daily activities, and night-time entertainment. There’s no limit to your fun, and you never have to watch your spending, because it’s all included.

Ontario is not only home to some of North America's best places to visit – natural attractions such as spectacular Niagara Falls top the list of visitors from across the globe – it's also where you can experience some of Canada's best resort vacations.

Sprinkled across this vast province (it's many times bigger than the UK, for instance) you'll find everything from luxurious wilderness lodges to beautiful country estate-style accommodations just begging you to stop awhile as you explore the surrounding areas.

Ontario attracts a good number of overseas visitors eager to explore its vast stretches of heavily forested and unspoiled scenery. There are also options close to larger urban centers.

Much, of course, depends upon the season. While some areas cater to guests wanting to experience activities such as skiing and snowmobiling in winter, others - such as Muskoka and Algonquin Park - tend to focus on experiences such hiking and canoeing in the summer months.

Whatever your preference and whatever time of year you visit, we're pleased to bring you this list of the best resorts in Ontario, Canada.

Guests can also access endless hiking trails through more than acres of adjoining, unspoiled wilderness. Come winter, some of these same trails are groomed for cross-country skiing. The resort is also very close to Algonquin Provincial Park, popular for its many outdoor adventure opportunities and scenic hiking trails.

Accommodations include a choice of traditional Muskoka-style housekeeping cottages, some winterized for year-round use. They range in size from a cozy two-bedroom unit above the resort's boathouse (great water views included) to larger three-bedroom affairs sleeping up to eight guests. Features may also include private decks and docks, direct beach access, real fireplaces, and barbecues.

Tomahawk Resort, Sioux Narrows

Another of Ontario's superb wilderness lodges, Tomahawk Resort in Sioux Narrows has been a popular fishing destination in Ontario for more than 70 years. Located on the fishing paradise of Lake of the Woods - famous for its excellent fishing thanks to an abundance of pike, walleye, bass, and lake trout - Tomahawk Resort offers a variety of all-inclusive packages, along with options for those bringing their own gear and boats.

Other things to do include swimming and sunbathing at the private sandy beach, use of canoes and paddleboats, a full-service marina, volleyball court, horse-shoe pits, and a playground for the kids. There's also a nearby golf course, plus a fun mini-putt attraction. The resort is especially popular among snowmobilers and ice fishers during the winter months.

The resort's unique accommodations include a number of "floating cottages." These houseboats come complete with bathrooms, full kitchens, and comfortable beds, and can sleep up to six guests. Best of all, you can untie your lake home and sail away to the next great fishing spot. Larger groups of landlubbers should consider one of the resort's premium cottages.

The largest of these consists of five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, separate living room, gas fireplace, and a barbecue. The smaller two-bedroom units are equally well appointed, and perfect for families and groups of friends.
